<DIV>For dual wield weapons, the quarterstaff has the best damage/delay ratio of all weapons a Bruiser (at least) can use.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The starting weapons (maple I think? the ones sold on merchant, useable in the beginning levels), show the following average DPS: <EM>baton</EM> = 3, <EM>quarterstaff</EM> = 3.53 .</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That's roughly an 18% increase in DPS comparitavely. The only way batons are better is if you have a proc that occurs reliably often, but even then.. we are only looking at .2 seconds faster (which is like 4.5 more attacks per minute).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What'll probably influence your decision more though, is what kind of stats you get for each. I have yet to see a pristine firwood quarterstaff... the stats might leave something to be desired compared to the baton, and compared to your build preference (Strength boosting, Agility boosting, or even mix of both, etc).</DIV>

<DIV>Woodworker/Bruiser here. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yep, I would definitely go with a Fir Quarterstaff (DW) if at all possible, though you will have to find a couple pieces of Fir if you want a matching set. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another "not too shabby" option might be to have it made into a Fir Bo Staff (2H).</DIV>
