<DIV>Increased tanking, but doing zero damage, that doesnt sound like a good skill. Why would anyone want to do that, I mean, no attacks, no specials.. Praying that you can hold taunt by slurred insult alone?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway dealing damage is one of the reasons a group might pick a bruiser as an alternative to a heavier plate tank. Killing that little bit faster. If the group wanted a uber tank tank, and didnt mind about reduced dps, they would have picked a guardian in the first place.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or am I missing something?</DIV>

<DIV>I hope its broke.  I thougth it would be like that tank skill that roots them in place for incresed tanking.. the penalty is that your rooted.. that should be enough.. This no melee thing is kinda whack.  Only thing I can think of is if your going to sacrafice yourself right before you die and already have mass agro you could hold out a little longer .. I would rather FD myself.</DIV>

<DIV>- L40 Heavy Scarring: Fixed description; it stuns the Bruiser while greatly increasing Crushing, Slashing, and Piercing mitigations.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Looks lame.</DIV>

<DIV>It's very useful vs epic type mobs and the big ^^^ ones.  Start the fight by turning on Killing spirit and buff your AC to 6-7000 AC.  Do as much damage as you can while you have that buff on, while also using every taunt you have.  Go nuts.  When Killing Spirit wears off,  turn on heavy scarring and taunt.   Mob should still be on you.  When heavy Scarring wears off Killing spirit should be back up and you can repeat the process.  Doing this should allow you to tank those really nasty big mobs.</DIV><p>Message Edited by IkkyScarab on <span class=date_text>01-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:17 AM</span>

<DIV>Would 31 - Slurred Insult (Increases hate towards the bruiser. This ability can be used while stunned) work during the stun?<BR></DIV>

<DIV>Slurred insult does work while ur stuned... I have personally found heavy scaring pretty useless to my style... it'll only take ur ac up to that of a buffed up plate tank and take away ur ability to react when things go  bad for 20 seconds(healer gets agro, healer spell not goin off quite fast enough so u need to heal yourself up to give'm time to get heal off, or uh oh healer got agro , you taunted agro back but look, he's at your flank or rear now! etc.), you can always turn it off if you need to, but that 1 or 2 seconds that it will take u, could mean the diffrence between ur healer dying and living.  Just my opinion though, perhaps others have found it usefull.  I just stick with what we do best, which is not getting hit.. ac = crap :smileyvery-happy:</DIV>

It's a usefull skill, especially in situations where you get a bad roll of avoidance checks, or in situations where you need that extra bit of tanking power to live through the fight. And yes Slurred Insult works while using Heavy Scarring.
