View Full Version : Why are all of my arts dependent on what weapon I am using?

<DIV>My slashing skill is low as I have been using 2 handers for awhile now. I just recently bought a couple of dual wield weapons to compare the dps. If I equip a Giant corkscrew (fists) in my primary, my arts will next to never work and my DPS is horrendous. My skill is about 120ish and I am level 32, so yeah there is a big gap right there but what does that have to do with my arts? If I kick why does the formula use what I am using in my primary to calculate?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Has anyone else came across this?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, I have relogged and tested this out multiple times. This is an issue with me.</DIV>

<DIV>Your Hit/miss ratio of your combat arts is determined by the weapon skill you have equiped in your primary slot.  If you wanna build this up just equip the weapon type your trying to get skill up in the secondary and keep a caught up weapon skill in your primary.  Or just duel wield the types of weapon skills your trying to build up and go beat up on some grey ^^s 1. because they can't hit you, 2. because they have alot of hps.  I really don't understand how some fists are classified as Slashing but they are, which is probably the problem your running into, and a problem I ran into as well.</DIV>

<DIV>Well I do understand about raising skills etc but I was just wondering why fist skill should have a determination on how well I land a kick. Just a lil silly to me.</DIV>
