Alright, there seems to be agreement that agility is the most important statistic for a tanking bruiser. However, I'm curious as to peoples impression of quite 'how' much more important then the other statistics it is. If there was a piece of very light armor with 30 ac and 4 agi vs a piece of light armor with 100 ac and no agi, assuming all other stats are equal, which would you wear and why? I'm looking for specific, either parsed or from extended personal experience. I'm really not looking for broad sweep logic like "Dodging is better then being able to survive a hit, so agi is better", I'm looking for "I roughly consider 1 agi equal to 50 points of ac", "agility has been vastly over rated and I've found greater success concentrating on hitpoints then my previous gear setup when I worked on agi" or something along those lines.Would you give up 1 agi for 2 sta? 4? 6?

<DIV>Simple awnser to ur question, Agi is prob the most important tanking stat a bruiser/monk has, reason being.... our ac is never going to be nearly as high as the heavy plate classes, so no matter how much ac an item gives you, you won't be able to rely on ac.  If you get hit chances are its gonna hurt, so your goal should be not getting hit =D which means more agi.  You can test my by grouping with a bard + druid + staggering stance,  at 35 my agi is pumped up to 209  It gets pretty [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] because I don't get hit often.. at the very most they may need to cast their regen.  But that is about it. AGI AGI AGI AGI AGI AGI AGI AGI. STR is secondary and ac really isen't that big of a priority, simply because that isen't the way we tank.</DIV>

See, that really isn't the answer I was looking for. I 'know' we are based upon avoidance. I 'know' we will not have a high ac. However, 1000 ac is still better then 500. I was looking for more specifics then those broad stroke answers, as I said. Would you give up 500 ac for 1 agi?

<DIV>I don't have any formulas.. but all other things being equal, I'd give up 1-3 agi for better stats elsewhere (ac, high sta or str). 5+ is where I jump on it. I'm currently level 28 with this outlook.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I always use Light armor though. And I start getting the itch to change once it's turning white or blue. If it's a matter of 5 ac though (as I've seen between pristine etched and engraved armors.. stuff I'll be wearing in the next few levels) then I'd go for the stats over the ac.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've never seen a situation where light armor was worth it. No "cap of ethernere" type thing for us brawlers types, as far as I've seen.</DIV>

<DIV>If there were an Item that gave 500ac and I had to sacrifice 1agi to use it, I would take it in a heartbeat. But the fact of the matter is no item exists anywhere near there. However if I had the choice between gloves that gave 40ac 9agi oppose to 70-80ac 4agi, would easily take the gloves with higher agi. AC isen't a priority.  Agi is when it comes to defense.</DIV>

Aye, I know there is no such item and I was using it as an extreme to show that saying ~always~ take agi no matter what is silly and hopefully help provoke more specific feelings then "agi is good". "However if I had the choice between gloves that gave 40ac 9agi oppose to 70-80ac 4agi, would easily take the gloves with higher agi." Is more what I was looking for, thank you <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><p>Message Edited by LadySylvi on <span class=date_text>01-03-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:18 AM</span>
