So far I've compared skills. I've noticed that both the monk and the bruiser can use fists, and both seem to be good at using fists (which is what I kinda wanted to do..) So what is the real difference between a Bruiser and a Monk? Are monks less offensive but more defensive? or is it the other way around?I originally wanted to be a Monk. But my friends are all in freeport, and I hear the betrayal quest is brutal... so bruiser is looking like more of a better option for me.

<DIV>The post i linked to stated that there isnt much of a difference other than that monks are based on agility, dodging attacks.  Bruisers are based on strength, dealing damage.  Also, monks get group buffs while bruisers get self buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>that's what the post said, and that is about the only difference.  Now, what question did you want answered?</DIV>

<DIV>Bruiser is a cooler name.  You think of meditation and Tibet when you hear monk.  You think of "OMGRUN" when you hear bruiser </DIV>

<DIV>after spending some time on antonica and grinding in Ruins of Versoon, i have noticed there are many more monks compared to bruisers.  i've seen about a 7:1 ratio monks to bruisers.  I like being different</DIV>

<DIV>I like playing an offensive tank.  I play secondary tank, taking up adds that occur, once the NPC is on me its pure hell for the Guardian to get it off me =P</DIV>

<DIV>Until they implement a new damage line ability for Bruisers, there really isn't any difference other than Monks dodge more </DIV>

<DIV>Oh, and the 20-showoff skill names are different,  Silent Fist Kata - Dreadnaught Fist Kata.  Dreadnaught sounds downright sexy, if you ask me </DIV>
