I ll try to answer with my poor english

T7 monks are good at solo, and can tank every group instance if u know your job. I think you’ ll have no problem to group (as a tank or as a dps )

In T7 raid, we are only little to medium use, so may be 1 to 2 slot in a full raid.

We are medium dps (ask for all buff and proc u can have ), can group FD or self FD to activate some mob …or to survive. Our Heal touch is great on the MT(about 44 to 50% with AA)

To off-tank sometimes (or tsunami-rescue if needed), u‘ll need good stuff, cause 74 +++ don’t miss u a lot even with really good avoid.

So : in demand in group : yes

In demand in raid : usefull sometimes but not really (specialised classes are more in demand)

Just wanted to add my own personal thought on one thing:

Not In-Demand doesn't necessarily mean Not Wanted.

I've found that while my Monk isn't necessarily sought after he isn't rejected either. I'm considered a good "utility" guy that can be used in various ways dependent on the situation at hand. Therefore, most groups won't turn me down since they know that I'll come in handy for one thing or another.

Something to consider anyways.

Saving a raid group is always a plus.

Solo'ing, Grouping, Questing, Tanking, Assisting, Off-Tanking and DPS'ing. The hardest part you'll find is convincing others that you can do it. With decent fabled gear, and some ok buffs, I tend to place in the top 5-7 in the dps chart pretty easily, and hitting the top 1-3 is not uncommon. If you're looking for an "in demand" class then monk definitely isn't it, though.

Well thank God I'm in a guild with and open mind. The only think I ever see in the channels is "Raid looking for plate MT" on the Mistmoore server. While I'm build more for DPS and group tanking it doesn't effect me as much. But the idea of people excluding 2 classes from raid tanking kind of sucks. I feel for the ones that need to put up a fight every time they want to raid tank. It should be just a gimme, but sadly it isn't.
