<DIV>Is it just me or is it stupid to not pick Mithaniel Marr as a diety for a monk? The passive abilities/miracles of mith marr and the cloak seem a buttload better for the monk.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Am I missing something? Or is this just the case? Every monk is Mith marr?</DIV>

Brell seems pretty good if you are going dps, not sure what cloak he gives tho

I did Brell for RP purposes.  The two mit buff abilities come in handy during tanking.  The blessing that gives +1k heat/cold and +10% phys mit and lasts 10 mins is solid.  The miracle that gives you +3500 mit for 15 seconds is pretty outstanding in emergency situations.  I'd assume the pet blessings would be nice for emergency dps, but I always have the two tanking abilities on hand.  The cloak gives regen X and the ability to summon some really low quality beer to your group members once per game day.  The Marr cloak is definitely better.<p>Message Edited by Bladewind on <span class=date_text>11-22-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:29 PM</span>

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is it possible to do one diety for the blessing/miracle and a different diety for the cloak? What's the specifics on that?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Doing Brell for the blessing+miracle, then doing marr for the cloak? Is that feasible? And having both?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>oh - and what's regen X? </DIV>

<DIV>I don't plan on using much of the diety system, but wanted the Marr cloak.  The added strength from the proc isn't a big deal, but the DPS boost is nice.  There are some nice effects in the Marr line, but the favor cost of the "nicer" ones is fairly high.  I'm at work, but as i recall the nicer miracles or whatever they are called have a favor cost of 1300-1600 favor.  Seeing as a T7 fabled item gives like 600 favor, i'm not sure it worth giving up 2-3 legendary/fabled items every time i want to utilize one of the diety effects.</DIV>

<P>I went with Quellios, as I am the off tank in my group.  I also do the pulling on raids, so I want to try to pull a mob without it bringing social aggro.  Imho, the blessings/miracles you get from the gods aren't made to be overpowering, just useful in a couple key situations.  That said, they are expensive.  You only get 2 uses out of a blessing/miracle (not entirely sure on this, just what i heard), and you must rebuy it.  Considering a piece of t7 fabled gear gives about 300 faction this is totally not worth it, and they better put some writs of some kind in so that people will continue using this feature.  I just think the devs are making ways to clear out the items in the economy, sacrificing items along with transmuting is going to make it kind of difficult to level an alt with any gear other than going out and mining your own rares.</P> <P> </P>

Yeah sacing fabled gear for 300/400 is definitely not worth it. I look at it as emergency uses when something has to die, but honestly not much out there is worth the cost. Maybe x4 names if it's close, certainly not normal heroic names.Unless the crafted altars have significantly cheaper favor costs than the tier 4 altar you get.<div></div>

<P>Doing all of the deity quests nets you about 20k favor/faction to start with.  You should obtain an imbued (rare crafted altar) right away if you plan on using blessings and miracles regularly.  The better quality the altar, the less favor you give up for blessings/miracles.  The mastercrafted is the best one known at the moment with thoughts that legendary and fabled altars will eventually show up in the loot tables.  The imbued (mastercrafted) altar recipe takes a rough lumbered ebony.  Someone in the carpenter forums did a comparison of altars and favor cost - it shook out like this:</P> <P>Humble altar (first deity quest) = full price</P> <P>NPC-purchased altar (guy on butcherblock docks) = 8% reduction</P> <P>Common Crafted (need a 35ish carpenter) = 16% reduction</P> <P>Treasured altar (4th deity quest) = 18% reduction</P> <P>Imbued altar (65 carpenter who has ponied up for the 6 plat recipe book) = 24% reduction</P>

<DIV>Given that, it sounds like its another overpriced non-needed ability. Cost?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ill try to savor it and never use it, I would think it being free (less effective if need be) for me to use it.</DIV>

The initial 20k status I have from the quests will last a while.  I'll use the abilities extremely sparringly after that is used up.  Hopefully the favor gain from item sacrifice is boosted eventually.
