I've been away from EQ2 for a rather long time and have just gotten back into things recently, and I was looking at gear for upgrades...and found that a pair of fists' damage rating badly outclasses a bo stave's DR. Is there an offhand dmg penalty that makes this so, or are bo staves (and their animation that I loved) obselete?

The combined damage rating (DR) of two dual wield weapons needs to be higher than the damage rating of a 2-hander to make the same dps. What I gather from the forums is that in T7, the combined DR of 120 for dual wielders equals about the DR of 106 for a 2-hander. How exact that really is I can't say. Remeber that DR alone doesn't take procs and min-max hit range into account, the latter playing a huge role if you've maxed out crit hits AA.

The only thing that I can say from my experience is, that using a 2-hander with a DR of 108 produces clearly more dps than using two dual wielders with a combined DR of 114.
