I'll post a picture later if I am not so lazy. I never understood why you just didn't ask fans for a little help. If you really wanted you could even give in game money or gifts for those who's designs were used, but to tell your the truth I think most people would do it for free just to say "Hey I made that armor.".

A possible partial solution to the problem of making a "new" outfit or look for brawler types is to use one that is quite popular and already exists but is rare and also has rather poor stats. I am speaking about the "Grand Masters Robe of Enlightenment", great name, great look, poor mitigation and no stamina means that even though it is rather poor armor it looks great enough (with a rice bowl hat very monkly) that some have worn it with fabled.

I suggest this be made a set, the first one called "Robe of Enlightenment", and treasured, with stats like other treasured, then "Masters Robe of Enlightenment" with legendary stats, and finally "Grand Masters Robe of Enlightenment" with fabled stats and probably either dropping off a raid mob or a quest similar to claymore series where you have to kill some raid mobs to complete the quest. Also, it looks good enough as is, you could keep it that way if a few changes would mean too much work, or you could change a few things, like say change the color of the belt to differentiate the different sets.

Also, one serious disadvantage of this robe as it exists now, and a bad trend I see developing in legendary EoF drops, is a lack of stamina or stamina/health. Monks and bruisers are avoidence tanks, which means the damage they take tends to be spikey, thus they need all the health they can get to make sure one of those spikes doesn't cause death. Many of the new legendary monk items I have seen are totally lacking in stamina (as is the original robe above) and do not have the health to make up for that lack, thus wearing one=death. You might think that one could add health and stamina through adornments, but one could do the same with armor that has more total health and get a better result. You could also include such things as agility or defense or deflection, since those are monkly, BUT you need to have at least adequate stamina/health if all that avoiding won't simply result in death if two or three hits in a row get though. It would be good if it also included at least adequate mitigation versus physical attacks, since that is something monks also need to help with those spikes.

Thus if you want to make a popular monkly outfit, the "grand Masters Robe of Enlightenment" shows you the way and saves you a lot of work, so long as you make sure that it includes the kind of stats, including stamina/health and mitigation that monks NEED.

Message Edited by PrimusPilus on 11-27-2006 09:58 AM

Message Edited by PrimusPilus on 11-27-2006 10:00 AM

Got mine done just now, and that second quest is a PAIN. The updates for both of them are kind of uncommon, but the second takes longer because you need more updates and the mobs are heroic. Easily soloable at level 70, but very tedious.

I'm pretty sure I didn't start getting quests from the Nybrights until I was fifty. The gi is the reward for Reverse Engineering Pt. 2. It involves killing some 54/55ish ^^^ heroic thexians in the camps by Gfay zone. Only just got it last night, and I'll probably hang onto it for dress clothes. The stats are kinda...yeah. Bleh. There's also a quest in the camp about Wu's Ancient Weapon. One of the final rewards is a fighting baton of the same (or at least a similar) name, bit it's also pretty meh. Has a small proc on it, and the DR's a little higher than what's on my level 52 wraps.fwiw, the chain reward from this quest has no graphic. It's a bare chest. At least, it was on my roommate's dirge.

Talvus Linked Tunic (chain) = bare chest [confirmed by ogaming]Going to try to comfrim this post LU30 tonight on my troubadore.

I'm sure it's some kind of Emperor's New Clothes gag or something. Or just a way of making wood elf chain classes able to show off their shrouds for once. And the barbs their woad.

Well I just confirmed it tonight post LU30 so it is probably not a bug or a gag. My group had three scouts all doing this quest. Only myself the Troubadore got the bare chest look while the Brigand, and the Assassin did not. Bard = bare chest class now. That must make all you Monks/Bruisers so jealous. Very easy quest if you put together a skilled group.

I weep for the fact that I selected "male" at character creation. Some of us want to look cool, too, and the darn strap-across-the-chest outfit doesn't accomplish that. Please give us some nice looking gis.

Am I missing something here? I presume the mobs I need are in the main camp - three arrow up heroics! Talk about working for a living.

The first quest in the series is soloable, but the next is heroic. They are in the camp and there is potential for a few adds/aggro so you'll want to bring a few friends. XP group works well early 50s there is a named in the camp as well. Anywho here's the GI on a dwarf. I love the look of GIs but won't be getting an upgraded one for quite a while.
Message Edited by Hfuhruhurr on 02-03-2007 03:29 PM
