<DIV>Just a question. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tried it for the first time myself today (first time in zone in fact), good fun all of zone and cleared all mobs up to the boss with np...but then boss owned me. Best pull was about 50% i think, a few pulls wasted tho with mobs in floor unable to taunt b4 a healer dead but when i did get it clear and adds mezzed healers still unable to keep up with the damage im taking.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It was hitting less hard than the x4 (about 5k max compared to 7.5k+ for the x4) but dammed mob barely missed me, in fact on our best try the git got me with a 100% hit rate and zero parry/deflect/miss. On a plus note, at least avoidance works on the x4 he only hit me like 85 times outta 330+.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>had a decent grp (me, fury, defiler, assassin, necro and illusi) all well geared (all M1 and pretty much all Fabled for me) only about 4.1k miti tho which hurts lots and also not aa specced for tanking either with no extra deflect, parry etc so only sat at about 70% avoidance. I wanna know the secret to staying alive lol!! Do i need miti buffers? do i need to respec my AA? or is it just easier to be a dps in there and get a plater to take the pounding?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would like to finish zone as tank just for fun, but if its nigh on impossible i will be happy to fill a semi dps spot instead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dorfy</DIV> <DIV>RE</DIV><p>Message Edited by Illustrious on <span class=date_text>10-25-2006</span> <span class=time_text>03:34 AM</span>

Some mobs just have insanely high to-hit bonuses. This is the same reason that tsunami appears to be 'broken.' The skill works just as it did before, but now t7 mobs have to-hit bonuses high enough to overcome (and in some cases laugh at) the +100% parry it gives. You've stumbled upon the reason many of us are looking forward to the changes coming in a few weeks. Avoidance tanks get the shaft when mobs are given bonuses that allow them to ignore avoidance.I've tanked a few of the nameds in there, and it is always a crap shoot for me. If it is a caster, I have no problems since I can gear up and get my spell mits very high. Melee mobs shred me, though, due to low mit (relative to a plate tank) and avoidance being bypassed by the overzealous mob to-hit bonuses.
I have tanked all Nizara from start to finish <div></div>

<P></P> <HR> I have tanked all Nizara from start to finish <P></P> <HR> <P> </P> <P>Any tips how to succeed? Im guessing your gear wont be a huge amount better than mine so its gotta be group layout and/or strat. All the rest of my grp had completed the zone b4 with a Plate tanking but were unable to keep me up on the Boss long enough.</P>

<DIV>We have only been able to kill the final mob by using a coercer to charm the adds. They do insane dps at their level, and it is better to have one on your side. </DIV>

Tanked it with my monk several times. Usually took a dirge, swashy, coercer, warden, inquisitor / templar and a monk. My monks full fabled with pretty much the best gear you can get minus some of the contested loot and full master 1's. Had to charm one of the nameds adds but other than that it was easy. Just pull with outward calm on groups with 2+ ishi's and your set.<div></div>

<P>Brawlers do better w certain classes, Swashies help a ton w debuffs, coercers hat gain, mezz and charm dps, dirges caps our parry and stone skin and hate gain, templars stone skin, wardens rock thorugh nizara for the heat ward and super fast heals/although defilers are good for mass hp and debuffs. You cna pick up an agi potion, some wards, and the huge mit stifling status item to help tank. But the real key to nizara final named is a good enchanter to mezz fast, and good healers who cna keep up and cure that dot fast. w a necro helping dps he can add some heals and cure the dot, but then you lose the swash debuffs. </P> <P>monks cna beat nizara the hardest time i had gettign someone through this zoen was a Shadownight. In fact it was so hard i had to box our guild MT to tank it, although in that attempt he was quite baked. </P>

<P>Thanks for the tips.</P> <P> </P> <P>Every mob apart from named was cake with everyone on 90% armour when we reached the boss (and was only 90% as i went LD during the X4..doh!!!), so our chanter was spot on. Just had a real problem firstly getting a taunt in on the boss b4 a healer dead (because it tended to be in the floor) and when i did get one in time and the adds were mezzed i just seemed to take to much dps for the healers to keep up. 2-5k hits with a 100% hit rate..it just wasnt happening lol.</P> <P> </P> <P>Cant really get any better gear than i got pretty much the best gear out there barring contested (which we dont kill) and already fully master. But maybe different grp make up would be nice. Swashie like has been said great debuff to help out and dirge for the +parry and stonekin would help also, maybe with warden instead of fury as well it would be easier.</P> <P> </P> <P>Will maybe have another try b4 EoF and see how it goes...otherwise i can try afterwards when at least Avoidance may actually work a little better!!</P> <P> </P>

<P>I've tanked Nizara from start to finish.</P> <P>Boss took quite a few pulls to kill, but we got her using Monk, Dirge, Swashy, Illusionist, Templar and Defiler. </P> <P>Oddly enough keeping me alive was not the problem. The hardest part was placement and avoiding breaking mez.</P>
