Well the purpose it to raise your mitigation... the usefulness is questionable. The only times times i've used this successfully has been at the end of a fight where you already have a good amount of hate, pop rescue, then go into stone stance. Other than that, even with Master 1 Rescue you're kinda screwed. TBH i rarely if ever use it because of the cast time.

<DIV>I've used it to off-tank in raids a few time.  It gives such a huge mitigation bonus that i can keep up with a plate tank, and since nobody is hitting the mob it isn't hard to keep agro since you can use taunt while stunned.</DIV>

I use it all the time to duo with a swash or assassin.  In raids I'll use it if agro isn't going to be a problem.  But if it's a mob that the whole raid is beating on, forget about it.  You can still use your single taunt while stunned, but unless you have a pathetic raid force you're going to have a hard time holding agro.
