I have been debating whether to use a two handed staff I have sitting in the bank (SotFW), or go the STR achievement line (unarmed). I plan to focus on the WIS achievement line and invest 8 points into crane twirl either way. My question is this, will the proc rate from crane twirl (8% with 8 points) occur twice as often while duel wielding than compared to using a two handed weapon? I am not sure how achievement line procs are calculated, are they dependent on the main hand only? Thanks for any help.

Proc rates across the board are normalized for 2H/1H vs. DW, and for weapon speeds. Thus, any proc should activate a proportionately correct number of times over a given period of fighting, regardless of how many times you actually swing the weapon. (Thus a 4% proc will land 1/2 as often as an 8% proc.)

That's how it used to be. It's supposed to go off according to the actual percentage chance it states now, but a Dev has never confirmed it to my knowledge. There was only a statement about proc rates being "normalized".

They are normalized so that a slow weapon will proc the same amount over time as a fast weapon. So a weapon with 5% proc chance will give 1 proc per minute on average regardless of its delay.

As i understand it the % is chance to proc every 3 secs regardless of weapon speed.

So a 10% chance on a 1 sec speed weapon would go off on average once every 30 swings which is every 30 seconds.

This is increased by haste as i understand it however and with 100% haste it will still go off every 30 swings on average, but seen as you are now doing twice as many swings in the same time period (slightly less due to CA casting times) it will now go off every 15 seconds.

the haste things seems proven to me just by comparing parses. I always proc loadsmore on venekor f.ex with 100% haste with Wurmslayer than our bard does who has 20 ish% haste. last week i procced about 7k of wurmslayer procs compared to the troub who was on under 3k. This is seen every week, to a greater or lesser degree, so is not just statistical fluke, i think its a good mob to compare on also because everyone has to stand in front of it in melee range for the entire fight so it not like the troub is using bow or anything else tat would affect the parse.
