<DIV>Well after coming on these boards for the last couple of weeks I've come to a conclusion that the bruiser is the favored brawler. Now don't get me wrong, I love my monk and hate having to do this, but I mainly use this character to farm named mobs(that's how I get most of my money) and many of my friends tell me that I would have a much easier time with a bruiser.</DIV> <DIV>A few days ago in RoV, I was about lvl 37-38, I decided to try and take 2 named mobs(not at once) 9-10 lvls below me...I was surprised when I couldn't get them down to 30% before faving to FD. One of my bruiser buddies tells me that he has soloed most of RoV at lvl 40 and can take down Varsoon at lvl 44.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now I know i'm still really low lvl, and alot of ppl are going to say: You haven't even gotten your core abilities yet.</DIV> <DIV>Tsunami? 100% parry for 12secs, and most ppl say that it only works around 30% of the time on names. So what else do we get that is so great? I like the last STR AA ability, but what else makes us so great.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would hate to betray, spend 10p on all adepts, and then figure out that the bruiser is only a bit better then my monk was.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thx in advanced.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Shadow...as a 41st level Bruiser hee farming a bit in RoV, I would say you should be ok with your Monk. I think it is safe to say the Bruiser is a bit more powerful at the moment, but as far as your figures you give, you sound as good as a Bruiser at thatlevel.</P> <P>Take me for instance, I started going into RoV around the same level you are/were 38ish, and i too had a tough time with the named mobs. The front one....The Weaver mob, was killin me. I am not that impressive in gear....basically mostly just mastercrafted armor and weapons....no AA's....some masters and Adept3's, about average, but thats about all.</P> <P>I was able to kill the Goblin named ok...but really, once I hit 40, I 3was able to kill the Living Tomb (I think its called...its in the same room as the Weaver but in the back), The Goblin named and the Weaver. Thse are the only ones I have tryed to solo. Now that I hit 41, the Goblin, I think, is grey.</P> <P>At 42, brawlers should be able to solo most of the content of RoV. I really don't think you need to betray just due to this mate. I really think you are fine. It sounds like you invested alot of money in ur char and there is no reason to do this really. You will be farming the same mobs as me and the others before you know it just fine. So, give it til 41-42 before you jump over to the dark side. You will know better at that point.</P> <P>I think monks really have it good with FD, Heal and Windwalk anyway...it's really a plus you are a Monk in these places. It sounds like you are well equipt and I know your goals of farming the named mobs will be met very soon and you will be happy as a Monk in a Dojo!</P> <P>Peace out!</P><p>Message Edited by Pnaxx on <span class=date_text>09-19-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:55 AM</span>
<DIV><FONT color=#cccccc>I hear where youre coming from, but consider this. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#cccccc></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#cccccc>Arguably, brawlers have the biggest performance gap between the bruiser/monk subclasses. This is not something that will continue. Much like the ranger/assassin issue, this will be addressed. Bruisers are just too much better in every way over a monk. It's only a matter of time before bruisers are nerfed or monks are boosted. As Gaige put it recently, there is not one reason in the world to ever pick a monk over a bruiser. Things like that wont stay. Have faith in the Devs. They are reading our posts and testing it themselves. These things just take time. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Betray before you hit level 50.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You will save yourself more money if you betray before you hit level 51 because there are no Apprentice 1 spell versions for any class level 51-70.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Instead of recieving apprentice 1 spells, your 51-70 skills are completely taken away altogether. Just save yourself more money by betraying before 51 so you don't have to spend more money buying adept 1, 3 and master spells all over again.</DIV>

<DIV>I say wait till EoF to see what mess we run into first. Guardians complained about poor dps and marginal tanking before KoS. AA's gave warriros increased DPS (consisntent double atk) and imporved thier tanking (+ mitgation). For all we know Monks cna have the Better AA's then bruisers in EoF. Sufficient enough to make them a better class. Truthfully its only 1-2 skills that most people consider bruisers >monks (+mitigation buff, etc). In EoF each subclass gains thier own AA tree. So lets see how they turn out before you decide how u want to go. </DIV>

I have to agree with Gungo I say wait ontil EoF come out there is already rumors about upgrading our mitigation and avoiding who know what else they do. I am waiting for that myself also and btw can some one list of thing that use loose when you betray from monk to bruiser please.

Unless you like the DW Fists weapon animation of monks, there is absolutely no reason to pick a monk over bruiser. If there are other reasons, they would be said here. Obviously even the poster above me , just here to satisfy insult ego even did not give a reason at all.

The OP was asking his Monk community for thier input...nothin wrong with that....that is what community is for knucklehead! I guess you just want a bunch of people telling YOU how great YOU are then. Haha...it's laughable. You may be the type that has problems in RL getting and or keeping friends cause they share their problems with you, and you tell them to quit whining. Hehe.
