Staff of the Flapping Wing?

Its ok, but doesnt seem to me to be as good as its DR would suggest, Vraskin club is better IMO if u wanna go 2 hander just for the high Damage spread.

Currently I have Ravasection Shredder + Dabner's Chitin something, it's gear anyone can get really.I also have the Staff of the Flapping Wing. I see people go nuts about this staff, but I'm not convinced or maybe I'm missing out on something...When I ask why, they only respond with that it has one of the highest damage ratings... but when I compare the other stats with what I have equipped, I can't imagine this staff would be any better...Can someone enlighten me?<div></div>

Most DW are so fast (especially when you'r 100% hasted) that you miss out on alot of autoattack dmg. For that reason 2h's are prefered over DW's of the same dmg rating, and Staff of the Flapping wing is one of the best monk 2h in game that's not no-trade (that i know of at least), meaning that you can buy it off the broker. When comparing to DW's that you can buy off the broker it's also alot cheaper in my experience. The lowest DW I have seen was 9 plat for fists of bashing (and you need 2) but sometimes they go for up to 40plat, and The staff of the flapping wing I've seen for 8 plat once but usually goes for 10-20plat. So basically you have a very good weapon thats relatively cheap/easy to get.EDIT: So if you wanna see the benefit of using 2h instead of a dw you would need to parse while spamming ca's, which of course makes the parse alot less reliable since you just added alot of uncertainty to the parse from the ca's. </div><p>Message Edited by Keshaan on <span class=date_text>09-11-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:34 AM</span>

I used the Staff of Flapping Wing until I was able to get some fabled weapons.  I consider it to be a very nice weapon, even though is a legendary weapon it has a very high dmg rating (108 I think), and has a nice proc.  It looks kind of wierd shooting arrows with a staff but hey ...  I used it until I upgraded to a Stonestaff of Striking.
