<DIV>N00b Macro question incoming but I'd be grateful if you'd all read on :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've recently rerolled as Monk (never played a fighter class before and have spent the last 18 Months being either a Defiler or a Conjurer). I've now reached lvl 21 and have just started tanking for groups especially for Armour Quests.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In all my time in EQ2 I've never made a macro but now I feel its time, I've done a bit of research but was hoping that I could get a bit more info here. Firstly most tanks have the sort of macro that goes:-</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>'A gnoll is incoming please smash it up' (or words to that effect). How can I get a similar thing? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Secondly how do tanks use the 'incoming' Macro? By this I mean, is the macro attached to a taunt or the throwing of a shuriken and used as part of combat or is it simply an independent button thats pressed prior to engaging in combat.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for bearing with me and any help is gratefully appreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Jabbso on <span class=date_text>09-07-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:28 AM</span>

<P>To emote a text indicating the target, do (example):</P> <P>/g Get ready, %T incoming blabla</P> <P>Whether you want to add an action, like taunt or some such, to the text message is up to you. I prefer not to, because I prefer having full control over my actions. Say forexample I spam my incoming message macro and in that very second notice a wanderer too close to the target, I could still refrain from pulling. Had I added an action like throwing a knife or taunting to my message, poof! But people have different play styles -- you'll have to find out what you prefer.</P>
