<DIV>dunno if this have been up for debate or anything, but I'll give it a shot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have an idea for making monks better at ae aggro and also for monks to have a more important role in raiding.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>since taunt resistance is calculated on the mental resists on the mob, why not give monks an addition to some of our attacks and or ae attacks.</DIV> <DIV>an addition of the type mental debuff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>since a monk is based mostly on mental, this dun feel that far fetched.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If we could debuff mental on a mob, we would lower that mobs resistances to taunts and by doing so we would be better at holding aggro. Ae debuff would be the best. that would help us with the group aggro. </DIV> <DIV>also mental debuff on a mob on raids would make it easier for the MT to keep aggro due to lesser taunts getting resisted. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This would up the demand for monks on raids and it would also make us feel more than just the average dps fillout/puller/suicider.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just a thought...</DIV>

Sounds like a good idea. However, I'd much rather see our mitigation/tanking skills looked at. I mean we are tanks after all.

I know we get mental resists with our stances to be in line with the whole tranquility thing, but I do not think we have any attacks that do mental damage. While a mental debuff might be somewhat helpful in a raid, it would be just about useless otherwise. I'd rather see avoidance be tuned so that we, as tanks, can actually tank effectively. I wouldn't complain about getting another tool to hold aggro on an entire encounter also.

I would rather being a crappy tank as role than to a crappy scout backup in raids.

yes, the tank issue. I know there is a tank issue, but that's not what this thread is about. this thread is about a tool that help when grouping/raiding. an ae mental debuff would be golden. so tanking issue aside, do you think this would be a good thing or not? Personally I think it's one of the best ideas I've ever had. <div></div>

I would agree a mental debuff to be added for sake of "usefullness" in raids. However, it is also sad we look for some light while can't do our primary role.<p>Message Edited by selch on <span class=date_text>08-09-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:24 PM</span>

yeah I know, but the raiding role needs to be injected with something too really. <div></div>

Sound nice. An ae mental debuff would be quite good. Maybe some kind of mental resist group buff, since we're based on wisdom and tranquility stuff we can share some of our knowledge to everyone else. Something like : "ok everyone, just stay near me and my awesome tranquilness and you won't be mezzed". <span>:smileytongue:</span> <div></div>

i am very useful on raids. we can pull ,debuff on the pull, and take first few shot for the tank on the pull. Intercede works well now and group fd is golden saves armor. I just dont know why people keep thinking were useless in raids or groups. i dont think an aoe for mental or debuff is going to make us any more useful imo. if u have a hate problem try groupin with a dirge or coercer will cure that problem. assassain would help some also. just my 2 cp.

<P>How abotu just turning the monk group hast ebuff into an overcap buff. That solves 2 issues for a bit. 1) monks cappign haste. 2) monks having a better benefit to raids. </P>

Monks are also used for traps in t7 raids. While it may not seem like it monks do have a role in raids other then dps.
