those are a little better. at least we see some kicking. lol, of course as most monks know its not all about the kicking. there is much training involved in are proffesion and sometimes this is hard to see. other wise i like the videos. very cool.

back in the day, ufc was full of black belts. black belt in this, black belt in that, etc. then, they started getting beat up by ppl like tank abbott. the only belt he had was the one that held his pants up. his fighting style was straight out of a biker bar. then he got beat up by someone who knew how to wrestle. how do you beat a wrestler ? kick/box him. how do you beat a kick/boxer ? wrestle him. you can win a fight one of 2 ways. be better than your opponent at what he does, or take it to him at an angle he isn't prepared for. that's why it's mixed martial arts now. you need an arsenal of abilities. pure martial arts is too restrictive to be utilized. hoyce gracie dominated ufc back in the day, but fighting evolved, and he didn't. that's why you saw matt hughes bouncing his head off the mat a few months ago.

Well, that Shogun guy kicks and beats the sh#t out of the guys... especially when they're already knocked-out and lying helplessly on the floor.

Thing to consider about those foot stomps is often really good ground fighters will drop down to the ground and wait like a spider for foolish opponents climb on top of em. Foot stomps are just a way of saying "get off your asss [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]!"

BAH!! Those are videos of bruisers. When I think of a monk, I think of a Shaolin Monk. Here is a cruddy quality video of a TKD vs. Shaolin Monk. Pretty rare to find actual footage of a monk fighting.

Notice there speed.

http://my.break.com/Media/View.aspx?ContentID=131351

I tend to think of Monks as the tradition Kung fu or even traditional karate style. I have come to the conclusion that the Bruiser is more of the Muy Thai Kickboxing style....of course...it doesn't look like Muy Thai, but I am just thnking of the simularities. Muy Thai Rocks! owns traditinal matial arts in my opinion! Hoo Wah
