<DIV>Well, more than any other rares that I've seen on the server, dragonhide pelts seem to be really cheap. So, since I'm no raider, I'm thinking about upgrading my outfit. I have pre-LU24 scaled right now, except for my pants which are Fabled.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My pants are definitely worth keeping over dragonhide, but that leaves me with 6 slots. The dragonhide is almost identical in Mitigation, but has better stats and bonuses. What I'm wondering is, should I:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A) Go with the regular dragonhide for the Defense bonuses, or</DIV> <DIV>B) Go with the dexterous dragonhide for the huge stat points</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How does the dexterous agility bonus compare to the +1 defense for the dragonhide? As long as I'm the highest level tank in my guild, keeping my avoidance as high as possible is my #1 concern.</DIV>

<DIV>I would suggest that you focus on acquiring Legendary dropped or quested T7 armor over dragonhide. You can easily acquire many items that are better than either form of dragonhide from heroic groupable MoBs and quests.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Examples:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zhardiz's Leggings: Drop from Counselor Zhardiz in Nest of the Great Egg</DIV> <DIV>Queen's Carapace: Drops from the Devourer in Den of the Devourer</DIV> <DIV>Mitts of the Restrainer: Drop from Restrainer Drovbazz in SoS</DIV> <DIV>Awakened Bloodscale Bracers: Drop from one of the dragons in PoA</DIV> <DIV>Boots of Bashing (treasured, but equivalent to dragonhide): Quested in SoS (first quest from the froglok paladin in the jail cell)</DIV> <DIV>Manacles of the Dark Sky: Drop from Skywatcher at top of waterfall above temple of scale in TT</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Etc.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Morrolan V on <span class=date_text>07-06-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:06 AM</span>

<P>I replaced all of my scaled with dextrous dragonhide when the expansion hit. I liked the extra resists for raiding purposes, and I also was dying for a new look since the standard rare leather look was the same from t5-t7. The only thing I missed was the chest imbue. I'd say the standard is probably better for soloing and tanking vs melee mobs, but the dextrous pieces are good for having extra resists in raiding situations or when tanking casters.</P> <P>As was mentioned above, the legendary/fabled gear for t7 is much better, so replace asap. Unlike above, I would recommend upgrading at least a few if not all of your scaled pieces to dragonhide rather than just waiting for replacement drops. The stat bonuses are pretty nice and will boost your damage, avoidance, and health over what scaled gives you. ALso, depending on which set you go for, you will also get extra spell mit or extra avoidance. While physical mitigation is very important, the added bonuses that dragonhide gives to all other stats make it worth the upgrade in my opinion.</P>

<DIV>i think decent boots are probably the most difficult to come by. i purchased the sta wis crafted boots and used them for awhile but that's the only thing i bought. rest of the stuff i'd go with what morrolan posted. most of that stuff you can pickup on the broker for a lot cheaper the most pelts except for manacles (at least on everfrost server)</DIV>

Go to Barren Sky and go to The Isle of the Guardians (or something like that) and get some boots of the featherscout. =) Legendary drop from a named off the fourth cliff or so to your right once you come off the cloud pad...have to round a corner a bit I think...been awhile. 3 mobs are th PH for the named I believe.<blockquote><hr>wesbarlow wrote:<div>i think <font color="#ffff00">decent boots are probably the most difficult to come by</font>. i purchased the sta wis crafted boots and used them for awhile but that's the only thing i bought. rest of the stuff i'd go with what morrolan posted. most of that stuff you can pickup on the broker for a lot cheaper the most pelts except for manacles (at least on everfrost server)</div><hr></blockquote><div></div>

<font size="2">Boots of the Feather Scout drop from Stoutfeather the Eagle Eye on Isle of the Guardians (I think that's the name of the island...not in game atm). Easy to kill him don't know drop rate but it's fairly common.</font><div></div>
