<DIV>Since the last update I notice that when I am in a group and get HP buffs, and run everburning flames (or whatever it's called at my lvl) I steadily lose hitpoints while just standing around.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is this something that has been happening all along and I'm just now noticing it, is it a bug, or is an intended change.  Also - what is the mechanism that causes it?  Inquiring minds want to know!<BR></DIV>

<P>Well all the burning/haste line eat hp(while IN Combat) at the price of giving haste percentage. I was using about three days ago worked fine to me as it should or aleast appeared so.</P> <P> </P> <P>Also even though the mob is not aggroed on you if you have it one and you're DoT(damage over time etc) still consider you in battle and drain your hp. (maybe?? etc other examples)</P> <P> </P> <P>If it is though try popping it off and on and see if you notice the previous etc. takes two seconds to toggle it on off in between battles.</P>

The problem is when you get hp buffs your health goes up. Which in turn makes the amount of hp drain go up (because it is % based). So when your max hp goes up the HP drain exceeds your HP regen and thus you end up losing more Hp's then you regenerate.

<DIV>Thanks for all the great responses.  IIRC the three times I've had this problem (two raids and one group) my HPs were boosted to levels from around 5.2K  to levels between 6.5K and 7.2K.  I'm pretty sure that in every case we were not engaged in combat as this was the gather/organize/buff stage.  I was consuming T7 food, but have no other health regen buffs on.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If the HP loss is 1% per tick I would be losing between 65 and 72 health per tick when buffed.  In a non-combat situation the HP loss should still be well below the gain from eating T7 food.  In all three cases I was targeting through the main tank, would that somehow put me in 'combat mode' and thereby deprive me of the non-combat health gain?  I'll try not targeting the MT until we are ready to engage next time and see if that helps.<BR></DIV>

<P>But in combat regen is calculated every 6 secs whereas the haste buff is every 3secs. So effectivly its double that hp drain.</P> <P> </P><p>Message Edited by Gungo on <span class=date_text>06-26-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:37 PM</span>

<DIV>generally no because your incombat and especially your out of comabt regen are way more then the drain. But the more hp's you have the more hp's it drains. Its fine atm, but i can see some major changes to the monk class in T8. Because halk your combat arts will not be useful upgraded such as your offesive stance, haste for hp, haste buffs, feign death, mend etc. Some of these spell lines alreayd have hit thier cap. The problem that resides for te hpfor haste and the hp for mitgation buff is hp regen does not scale as fast as max hp's scale. So every tier and the better equipped you get the more damaging those spells are for us. Many consider the mitigation for hp worth the loss (except solo), the question comes is their a point where the hp for haste is no longer worth the drain.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Gungo on <span class=date_text>06-27-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:18 AM</span>

<DIV>All you have to do to put yourself into in combat health regen is to target a mob or player and hit auto-attack on.  This will toggle on in combat regen whether your are allowed to hit your target or not - and whether you are in range to hit a mob or not.  If you have one of the everburning line on chances are you'll start losing health faster than you can regen it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Having a druid or zerker in your group can help to counter-act this loss of hps as they generally have hp regen spells/CAs going at all times.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you ever want to commit suicide.  Just FD with everburning on.  <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Trust me it doesn't cancel when you are low on health.  I've forgotten to turn it off a time or two when FDing on a raid.  <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV>Croaker</DIV>
