Pretty simple question but I couldn't find the answer. If I use two claws that are 10 DPS each, do I just total them and I do 20 DPS overall, or is there a wonky WoW-like calculation that reduces offhand damage?I'm trying to find if there's a quick and easy way to compare my two fist weapons to a two-hander I picked up that I'm considering using. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Also is there an obvious way that strength influences damage dealt?<div></div>

However you cannot simply add them together and then compare to a twohander...Your best bet is to compare crafted dualwield weapons to a crafted twohanded weapon of the same teir.Assuming that we can trust the developers calculations (And I'm sure we can), that should give you a good base to compare from. The reason they aren't equal are apparantly because of how the way Combat Arts interact with autoattack. I don't really think I'm able to explain that one though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I just trust the developers instead.</div>

Dual weild is deliciously simple in this game. You just add the two damage ratings, so yes, your example of two ten DPS claws providing 20 DPS total is correct. If the two dual-weilding weapons are of the same quality as the Two-Hander (all three weapons are treasured for example) then you should have a higher DPS rating Dual-Weilding, however, there are distinct disadvantages to attacking more frequently.<div></div>Yes, there is an obvious way that Strength influences damage dealt: It increases it. Aside from that, the more strength you have, the more power you have, thus the more combat arts you can use.

Thanks for the information, Ben. Your Strength information wasn't quite as helpful as it could've been, though; like, when I was lower level I was trying to decide on a staff with 10 DPS versus a staff with +8 Strength and 8 DPS. I was wondering if there was a Damage/Strength formula or something. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<DIV>dw's are faster though. and if the atk speed would be below the cap with that haste cap will kick in and you would be able to do more damage with a two hander that isn't at cap.</DIV> <DIV>and if you manage to cap a two hander it's gonna be dealing bigger hits at the same rate.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>also take the procs in account. the dps number doesn't. </DIV>

There is only a 100% cap on haste, and both DWs and twohander are equally affected by it.

<DIV>Generally speaking unless the stats are super fantabulasticly good, a weapon with a higher DR will do you more good.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In your case, taking a 20% reduction in DR rating 10 DR vs 8 DR is not worth 8 strength.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now if you were say at level 70.  And you had a choice between a 63 DR weapon with crappy stats and a 61 DR weapon with great stats, then the choice is a tad harder.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And as was posted.  Damage rating is damage rating.  There is no such thing as a weighted damage rating favoring 2-handed weapons over DW weapons.  DW weapons do more damage because there are some rather significant drawbacks to going with DW over 2-handed in certain situations.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV>Croaker</DIV>
