It sounds silly to swap out dark chitin rings x2, but when you are talking about taking 8k damage or taking 5k damage from an AE, the resist gear wins by a long shot. Also remember that an imbued acrylia ring has a nice DPS modifier when it procs and that it is relatively easy to cap your strength in a raid (you figure in to slot somewhere as a DPS raids) so you should focus on ensuring you bring along stanima/wis/resist items, resist potions/wards etc. Also, if you haven't grab 2 strength dolls and some ranged throwing items(especially if you go with the STR unarmed AA line) The last bit of advice I can give you is that if you are only concerned about DPS, until you get 2 duel weild weapons with a DR greater than 60 or a 2hb with over a 106 Damage rating your DPS might be better served to go with the STR AA line with 8 ranks into relentless punches (the unarmed attack). Buyer Beware, spamming combat arts while fighting barehanded has tended to pull aggro with ease unless your raid and your tank are very proficient in maintaining aggro. Especially if you can achieve and maintain 100% DPS and capped strength so spread out those combat arts and Save a Raid (tm)! Also, if you are in a joust fight with the unarmed AA line, ranged DPS is darned near close range DPS numbers.

Yeah I was confused about that comment, what makes the Wraps such a bad item? +defense is never a bad thing is it?

Be aware that the dragonhide belt is resists (300ish to each) and health/power only, so it is great for fending off aoes in raids, but probably not so hot in any other situation. I personally still use the FBSS just for the extra haste, but there are plenty of nice looted belts that give 20 or better to multiple stats and have some resists on them.

Wow thanks guys! some really good input...since I can't do what everyone suggests lol I'll make my own mind up from the choices you have given me! I actually lready have most of that stuff, ghostly wraps, queens, everything except in the ring department (although I picked up a band of solitude the other day, +70 health and power is good but I chose it for the 700+ Poison resist) and wil use that until i get some light chin (maybe get a dark to compliment the band perhaps?)

Anyways, thanks again for the help!

Dred

How much difference is there between +4 Defense and 44 Mitigation (the difference between Wraps and QC)?

I tank in offensive versus heroic encounters not in HoF (faster they die, less chance for bad avoidance rolls) so I don't use the FBSS anymore. If you were in defensive stance, the FBSS might be useful if you don't have a haster in your group. Otherwise, I'd go with a belt that gives more HP, stats, resists etc.

If you have access to a good duo or trio group or solid group go to:In Barren Sky-Palace of the Awakened and make a left. The first wing go in and make right, then a left and the second bath will be the Superintendant Nimclaw PH. Kill it. Wait. It spawns again. Kill him. Wait. eventually you'll end up with Superindendant's Clawmitts...much, much, much better than Mitts of the Restrainer. Dragons in PoA also give the nice forearms - Awakened Bloodscale Bracers.Guardian Isle and move left off the cloud pad and on your right there will be some cliff outcroppings. Your third one or so (perched up on top) are PH for Soulfeather the Eagle Eye. Kill them. wait. kill him. eventually ou'll end up with Featherscout Boots.Anyway...you get the idea there are great items out there for the casual, non-raiding type of monk. It's not impossible to have nearly all legendary for most of your main gear and doing, as others suggested, the claymore quest line would be a good idea as well as Infiltrating the Sanctum for the Fist weapon.Peace
