<DIV>I have seen and read many times that people but there avoidnace buff on the maintank. I usually play the role of offtank and dps during raids however have been grouped with the main tank many many times. Our main tank is a pali and whenever I place Tranquill Vision on him is cancels his avoidance buff which if I remember is the same as mine. So if I am understanding this right, its better for me to place my TV on him so he uses my avoidnace as a check then to raise his own avoidance? Or am I just missing something, or id this change as I have not tried to use it on the pali in a long time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

If you are in the MT group, then the tank is far better off using TV from you than the small defense they get from their own. <div></div>

<DIV>It's much better to have your avoidance buff on him. If he complains tell him to open up a new chat window and just put mob hits and misses in it. And have him watch how many times you deflect, parry, riposte hits that would otherwise hit him.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV>Croaker</DIV>

The offtank should always be block buffing the maintank. Even if the brawler is the maintank and the guardian is the offtank. Its better to have another avoidance roll than 2 or 3% more avoidance. Way better.

<P>It is unfortunate that the interface does not reflect your composite avoidance when another fighter puts an avoidance buff on you. I know many less-informed fighters who think the small benefit from their own buff is better than having another fighter buff them simply because their avoidance number does not show any increase when another fighter buffs them.</P> <P>When a fighter buffs someone else, they gain 2-3% to their avoidance. This is reflected in their persona window.</P> <P>When another fighter buffs them, they gain an x% chance to make a second avoidance roll using the second fighter's avoidance number if their primary avoidance fails. Depending upon the avoidance of the offtank, this can lead to anywhere from a 5%-15% effective increase in the MT's avoidance. If you are a monk who has maxxed deflection and parry AA's and is wearing deflection gear, putting this buff on someone will drastically increase their avoidance.</P>

though as a plate tank, I would prefer a crusader buffing me instead of a brawler.

<DIV>Aye it took me a few months to convince our Guild Leader (Guardian about this) a year or so ago. First through testing and parsing. Which made him give it a thought but still didn't completely convince.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then when he was re-organizing his combat chat windows he finally saw with his own eyes how effective it was.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We used to have a Pally as avoidance buffer on the MT due to the other benefits they have, but found that it was generally more effective for me to have my avoidance on the MT. So, now that I'm no longer generally in a DPS group or role, been thinking of swinging over and respecing yet again for Tanking. However, if I get the gear I want, I'm going to be pretty close to the caps anyways, so meh, not sure.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV>Croaker</DIV>
