<DIV>I was just wondering at what level "fist" attacks became viable as a fighting technique?   I've read several threads today about how good it is with AA, but should I be using batons or 2h staffs until then?   And if so then when exactly is "then"   I saw someone post that you needed at least 3 AA into STR before fist became viable.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for any help.  I'm only leve 4 so my knowlege on the class is very limited at this point.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Snaps</DIV>

Fists for dps are viable above treasured weapons at about 1-2 AA<div></div>above legendary weapons at about 3-5 AA  (depends on teir and quality, being as t7 is amazing)above most fabled at 7-8 AAPretty much if u have 8 into the fists, your raw melee dps will be better then then any fabled combo.   There are only 9 weapons total in the game atm that out do fists, and most are high high end raid guild items, so if the avg monk wants high dps, fists are the way to go.

<DIV>Not sure how it is at lower levels.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But at level 70.  Currently it's slightly better than easily attainable T7 Legendary, and not quite as good as T7 Fabled.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Add in a few procs however, and it eventually surpasses T7 Fabled currently.  Which is a valid tradeoff for the loss of stats, hps, power, resists, and avoidance if any on the weapons.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However with the upcoming Proc Changes you will get similar or slightly better DPS with T7 legendary as you would with the Strength line.  At least with full DPS AAs.  Of course, you then lose out on stats, hps, power, resists, avoidance, etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Did another round of testing with unarmed and then respec'd and did a round of testing with Legendary that anyone can get with a group of 3+ guaranteed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The numbers aren't comparable to previous numbers I've run as I changed the enemy type I was fighting.  Still heroic.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Self buffed only.  Auto-attack only.  78% haste.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4-4-8 Str, Sta, Int averaged roughtly 450-460 DPS.  After the change you can drop another 30 dps off that.  Mantis Bolt was contributing roughly 70 DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Respec'd and did...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4-4-8 Sta, Wis, Int.  and averaged roughly 440-445 DPS.  Mantis bolt was contributing around 40 DPS and Crane twirl was contributing roughly another 40 DPS.  However, Crane Twirls is less than dependable meaning it would proc anywhere from Zero times a fight to 5 times a fight.  While Mantis Bolt would average 14 procs a fight varying anywhere from about 10-18.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So after the changes to double attack.  Against that particular enemy Fists in my build would average 420-430 while the legendary weapons would average 440-445.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Basically you would do more DPS and still retain the benefits of stats, hps, power, resists, and avoidance if any.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BTW - the easily attainable weapons is Soulspur from the Sanctum line of quests, the Katar of the Four Winds from the Claymore series of quests.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I figured I would use something that pretty much anyone in the game can get if they want.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV>Croaker</DIV>
