You were probably just unlucky. Im a bruiser on naggy and have never been beat by an equal lvl monk. Although the fights are always very close. He may have also been alot better geared than you. 59% avoidance is kinda low also. I think he was just lucky and you wernt. <div></div>

<P>How long was the fight? Were you stunned/stifled most of the time? A lot of a brawler on brawler fight is all about who gets in the first stun/stifle and can maintain it...</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<P>Thanks guys for the input.</P> <P>What stat do I need to put some points into to boost my avoidance?</P> <P>Is agilty of 152 at lvl 43 too low? I'm assuming it is - because he was just hitting me like there was no tomorrow and like I said I was lucky to land 6 hits.</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>Yeah I think its pretty decent for 43 then again it has been a while since my monk was in that level range. For avoid your going to want to focus on your parry though.</DIV>

Most likely he had very good gear and/or adept 3's/masters for his CA's. Also, one thing i've noticed against bruisers is that if i can manage to survive past their initial high damage attacks, I can usually beat them down. You have stronger burst damage, but can't sustain it for very long, so the longer a fight drags on, the better a monk will fair by comparison. Because of the difference in cooldown timers, which I believe bruiser's have 1 minute cooldowns for a lot of their CA's (correct me if i'm wrong), there is also less margin for error as a bruiser. If you miss your high damage CA's then you have to wait a minute to use them again. Most of the monk's CA's have a 30 second cooldown, so even if they miss, they can often use them again within the duration of the fight. I think that luck with landing your CA's probably has a lot do with your success. This is all just theory on my part, based on observations and fights with my monk, but it seems pretty sound to me. </font><div></div>

I schooled her.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Okay, so the 1 time that I lost the players husband sat in and played the toon instead. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And he kicked my butt. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Badly.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><cough>. But I still had an 80% kill rate!!!</DIV>

a healer class shouldn't have much problems against monks/brawlers. On my inquis(preKoS) i dueled a monk friend all the time and i would always destroy her. Your wards should be able to keep you alive thru all the monks high dmg CA's but then the monk has to rely on auto attack because we have long re-use timers and that gives a healer plenty of tme to heal up and wait out the monk to lose pwr. Also being a mystic do you get some kind of pwr drain? i know defilers do and if you can put a pwr drain up and heal urself till monk is oop your golden

It's a power battle and the Healer has a lot more of it. Against Mystics you'd be hard pressed to time it right. Wait out the ward, and chain stun, KD, interupt, and DPS and hope you can wear them out fast. Otherwise you should be able to hold your own, most healers just can't put out enough damage short term, so you gotta put them down before you run out of power.<div></div>
