Hi all, coming back to EQ 2 from a break since launch and must say that I like the changes. I had a few questions some of which im sure you are tired of answering, tried searching however some of the info is old and with all the changes I figured I would ask away.

Anyway regarding soloing, does a bruiser solo that much better than a monk?. Having a new baby I cant really spend time grouping because I may have to run so I was just curious if I would be loosing anything by going monk over bruiser.

Secondly with the removal of the subclasses are there any lower level armor quests etc that are still around? If I recall there would have been a brawler quest etc that might give you some armor and weapon, are they still active and just retitled etc? Thanks in advance for your help!

I was wondering the same thing. I primarily solo and played along time ago as bruiser and now that I've come back been playing a swashbuckler main. However, would like to go back to brawler at least as an alt, and perhaps main. I initially chose bruiser because everyone said better soloer (w/ better heal) and better dps. However, after playing scout envisioning solo life without some form of stealth instills dread in me. For that reason, the monk's wind walk looks very appealing (combined with half elf racial invisibility trait). I would be willing to start over as monk if soloing not that much more difficult and dps isn't that subpar (say no more than 5-10% off bruiser).

I realize these are overly simplistic questions in a lot of ways and that everything is relative and situational, particularly with the new game mechanics introduced with KoS. However, hoping some kind souls would give their unbiased thoughts/input. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Found the new monk faq up above and answered alot of my questions, at least pre-KoS.

Message Edited by dagoo7 on 03-07-200604:19 PM

Hey guys,

I have a 25 monk that I started a few days ago and let me tell you I have 0 problems soloing, and I don't want to start any wars but I feel we solo better than bruisers. Granted I only have perspective so far up to level 25 however I have been solo stuff yellow to me up until now and have not had any problems. Very proudly I must also add that I have dueled 2 brawlers one when I was 20 and he was 20 and one when I hit 25 and he was 25 and I won both times this last one I was still full green health. So monk it up beacuse we are awesome =)

I must say that I love my monk. I mostly solo but do group when time permits and if we had a res we would be unstoppable! I find that equipment is key but I have been soloing green ^^^ heroics in EF and living to tell the tale. So I'd say go for it, and hey, if you really don't like it you can always go back to your swashy.
