<div>Hello,</div><div> </div><div>I am brand new to the game and have read the FAQs and other threads.  I play a monk froglok on the Venekor PvP RP server.</div><div> </div><div>I have a quick question, I know that Str, Sta, and Agi are all three very important to monks (and wis for resistances for that manner), but I don't know what to put my level up ability points into.</div><div> </div><div>I am personally leaning towards Str to hit harder or Sta in order to have staying power.  Agi would also be nice to make sure that my hits land and that I can avoid.</div><div> </div><div>What do you veteran experts recommend?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks,</div><div>Macbeth</div>

<div></div>ok... i have to say I am NOT the ubermonk and still low compared to some other experts on these boards (just 33). Play Kerran monk on Lucan DLere.I suggest going str/wis maybe 2:1. If you hit the cap on str, then maybe change to sta or agi.Thing is as a monk you already have the most hp... and agi, even though it is counting towards your avoidance is only going towards your base avoidance.*)Our main avoidance boost come from our stances. sweeping crane is just awsome! on master 1 anyway! I believe one of the froglok racial traits is AGI (as is one of the kerrans) that i would take, but otherwise not.str gives you more attack rating (good if you are in defensive stance) more damage  and more power! The only difficulty i have in PVE at least are spellcasters... so that is why i would take wis. Then again we have some abilities that use health instead of power, one of those is the everburning-flame-line and the hard-hitting-monster attacks... so stamina maybe viable as well. But I have a long way to go to reach the kap on str; so I don't know.Hope to be helpful. If my estimates are totally out of whack, maybe some of the higher ups may correct this.cheersOlaf*) the higher the base avoidance the lower the influence of the other avoidance stats (deflection, parry), so if you have a little less base avoidance the other skills will compensate a some! eg. 1% less base avoidance is not 1% less avoidance! same goes the other way round. Only drawback is that parry and deflection are mostly fix numbers, so you can only tweek the base avoidance through stats. deflection and parry are raised through stances/combat arts.Ab dafür<p>Message Edited by Morrgan_Soerenson on <span class="date_text">03-03-2006</span><span class="time_text">02:58 AM</span></p>

<div>Well best option if you can afford it would be to have to sets off stat gear.  You would have STR stat gear for non tank groups and AGI gear for when you are tanking.  You could then choose secondary STA or WIS.</div><div> </div><div>For your main body parts you will not have much choice at lower lvl's, but rings and stuff have a couple sets.</div><div> </div><div>For PvP I would think STR/WIS woudl be the way to go if WIS effects resists that much.</div>

Specific resist gear will affect your chances on Venekor much more than WIS gear.  Don't look for WIS gear if you want resists.  There's plenty of good gear that has STR/STA as well as good resists.  There is a set of gear in each zone which is random mob-dropped and is pure resist gear.<div></div>

<div></div><p>How about my stat points that I get from leveling?</p><p>Should I go STR, STA, or AGI?</p><p>Which does gear endgame have least?</p>

Do you mean the stat points that you get from racial choices?  If so, aren't those like +5 to one stat?  +5 won't make much difference, relatively, at the end game.  I'd just take what you need at the moment.  +5 will make a difference only lvl 30 and under, IMHO.<div></div>

<div>I mean the ones that you get to choose starting at like level 8...</div><div> </div><div>I get to choose any single stat and get +4 to it...</div><div> </div><div>Its not a racial tradition but like just a normal leveling up ability buff you get based on certain levels?</div><div> </div><div>Anyhow what should I go with?</div>

<div></div>At that level I would choose either STR or STA.  I chose STA.  Reason being mobs are only hitting for that much.  Having any extra HP will only help.  At that level power pool is not an issue especially with some crafted drink that you could make.
