that 3th picture...O_O. What are they trying to do? Put us in some sort of chastity belt??How hard can it be to design something elegant, without too much covering up or leather straps everywhere?/em throws up her hands in desparation.

Being a brawler is more about agility and practicality, then elegance. A brawler is treated equal: wether female or male. The Chest-Belt with the symbol in the middle is given to new apprentices and isn't meant to be comfortable. The metallic symbol displays the apprentice's allegiance. It is designed to ensure maximum air permeability to vent body heat, and flexibility of the limbs to aid agility, whilst hardening the student to discomfort. The male students have no problem at all wearing the Chest-Belt as it is, the ladies however, have to apply a fabric underlay to their chest belts, to hide their modesties, without defeating the purpose of the Chest-Belt. It might come across as overly sexual, but it's not. The lady brawlers are just being treated as complete and utter equals to their male counterparts.Graduate students of the arts are then rewarded with training gi's made of light durable, yet air-permeable fabric. That's my take on it's design

Message Edited by Kaydrian on 02-07-200601:52 AM

For the first and second pictures - aren't those raid gis? If so, most players (including myself, sadly) will never see them. They look great on you, though, so grats on them. For the 3rd picture:This set continues the current trend of bringing "new" armor sets into the world by recoloring existing armor sets - in this case, the old, old bruiser AQ20 quest armor has been reworked, giving it new pants and shoes, and then re-inserted into the game. I admit that recoloring is not my favorite solution to the problem that exists with armor sets, insofar as there are too few graphical models of them in the world. It is my hope that additional models will be released soon, preferably for all classes and levels across the board. However, recoloring provides a bit of variety now, so that wait for new models seems less interminable.Furthermore, the level of the gear patches a serious hole in monk graphical progression. It is quite possible to wear the starter gi until level 12, when the new gear can be obtained. I suspect it will be possible to wear the new gear through level 25, when the AQ sets can be obtained (at least this is what I plan to do.) AQ sets should keep until level 30-40, when the Blood Drenched Gi comes into play (it looks like the gi in the second picture, but brown with gold highlights.) Then in the 50's, the Rujarkan and Ashen Order gis are available. This does NOT excuse Sony from its responsibility to bring a lot of new armor sets into the game (and I mean a lot, as in hundreds.) However, new sets like this one will hopefully make it possible for a new monk to avoid the humiliation of being mistaken for a druid.Jen

FlowerFist wrote:

Where does that 3ed chest peice come from?

There is a quest in the Caves which results in the chest piece. It is a low level quest, and the pants, shoes, and shirt are in the same area.FYI, if you use the regular models, the shoes clip TERRIBLY through the pants. I wish they would fix that... Jen

As for the third picture- it looks to be the original AQ gear (The real original) aq gear. That was supposdly removed from the game because it had too many glitchs.

I ran this morning and got these items, just for show ... I think they look good ... they do remind me of the eq1 Monk harness. I allready got a few comments about my "skimpy" outfit ... It is a move in the right direction though...it might've been better as a 40 something gi so there is not so much of a gap...
Message Edited by FlowerFist on 02-07-200601:55 PM
