Soloing: There are many ways to adjust your soloing if you are finding yourself losing battles you shouldn't. Don't be afraid to re-adjust your techniques just because someone else says another way is the best, it might be the best for how they play... but not you. There are many factors to different peoples playing styles. For those that know what MUDS are, the SNOOP command was great, I could peer in and watch many different players commands as they typed them into the screen, (dont be fooled they can still do this). But back to the point, the major thing I noticed is that no 2 players ever used their skills in the same way and there was a huge difference in what they could accomplish with the same abilities. So here are my helpers for the mid-40's... and I do not delve too far into Gear and Weapons... although important, it's the strategy that matters more. (Of course you can't wield a wet noodle and kill a heroic with ease)Use several stances: Tuff Solos: 1. Open up with defensive stance and shocking hands. (For maximum result, have shocking hands on and await a refresh so you can use it twice in a row) 2. Switch out of defensive once you've used all of your attack skills the first time and into offensive, turn on everburning as well. 3. Depending on Difficulty, Mend here and use judgement on a defensive stance again and repeat, or continue pummeling. 4. Extra helpers. Choose both combat power regens at this point in your career as traits. Monks can run out of power in about 20 seconds it seems, then you're stuck with auto attack... use that time to regen power and time your stuns smartly with the power you have. More on stuns... on a caster, obviously more important that you do not use these attacks in the initial flurry, save them for when you see the sparkley stuff. Another useful tactic is saving up your darting sparrow attack until you stun, go behind the mob and you'll have a higher success rate to hit all attacks. 2 more things to consider on a hard solo mob.. pull with a hex doll and use mountain stance if you can stay out of aggro range. If you dont use mountain stance before the pull, use it after a stun to give you a couple seconds to not be hit while casting. (It doesnt interrupt, but you wont be hit while wasting time casting) Cast your Agility ring while soloing too. Easy Solos: Efficency is the key here, it's not hard to figure out how to kill easy solos. But who want's 5 minute down-time? Use spider stance instead of your full out offensive stance. It's a middle ground and if the mob isn't taking you down much, switch to full offensive at the end.Hex doll pulling, casting agi rings, mountain stance and group attack/ho's, focus on casters first and use wind of spirit to get rid of nasty dots/poision on a regular basis. To reduce downtime, get an FBSS, it will make up for the haste loss on soloing if you do it. Use stuns, use mountain stance as much as you can, and use Heroic O's. Good food and drink of course, but most important is your health.. don't attack tuff solos and sit for 10 minutes... kill mobs close to your level that are easy and in high population. You should have minimal downtime if you play your skills right and can kill as fast as a group does. Don't limit what you decide to kill, kill as efficently as possible and assess the exp you get. You'll be suprised.
