<div>Are there any non-Heritage equipment out there that gives off a light source?</div><div> </div><div>As a human, I don't have any forms of vision, and even though I can see just fine in dark environments, I still like to have a light source to brighten up the area.</div><div> </div><div>Oh sure, I can always just use a torch, but then I give up the stats gained from one of my Charm slots.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Anyone know of any equipment that gives off a natural form of light? I know the Shiney Brass Shield gives off a yellow light, but obviously we can't use that.</div>

I haven't found any. I wish the lightstone worked from your inventory like it did in eq1. (or does it?)I used to just use a torch, but when I got hex dolls I stopped. Now I don't use anything and just up the brightness/contrast/gamma a bit.<div></div>

<div></div><div></div><p>Sorry, I just HAVE to gloat. Get a pair of Cat Eyes!</p><p>Mreower.</p><p>Seriously though, I feel for you folks who can't see at night. (= I'd suggest for this and other reasons going over to <a target="_blank" href="http://eq2interface.com/">http://eq2interface.com/</a> and getting the ProphitUI, there's a handy dandy NIGHT VISION button built into the UI to temporarily up your gamma and brightness and who knows what else... I find it very useful when playing some of my alter egos who aren't fortunate enough to have superior eyesight.</p><p> </p><p>Message Edited by Rrawl on <span class="date_text">01-13-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:15 PM</span></p>

<div>I have no regrets about not choosing a race with a form of nightvision. I'm just saying it is convenient to brighten things up a bit.</div><div> </div><div>Too bad I can't seem to find a gamma feature in the game's options themselves. My monitor is set to the highest as it is.</div>

<div></div>Torches also work from a true inventory slot.  I just went with 5 containers and a torch in my 6 inventory slots to keep my charms free for good stuff.

Gamma can be found under options > display > colour corection submenu (at the bottom)<div></div>

<div>Hey you're right about equiping a torch in an inventory slot. Things are much better now, and I honestly can't even remember the last time I ever actually filled up all 6 of my bags, so that won't matter much.</div>

<div></div>Yeah, I read about it in gameplay a month or so ago.  I don't notice not having the last bag either.  Between the collector's pouches, the one from shimmering citadel, and the EE bag, I still have plenty of storage space with 5 bags only.

4 words: 28-slot bank boxes. (though I'd hate to lose one of them for a torch. I guess I'm a pack rat)<div></div>

<div>Gamma correction is the way to go.  Some zones are just dark regardless of your vision.  My wife plays a high elf fury and I remember times in zek where she could only see my name floating over my head.  We tinkered with her gamma settings and fixed things.  Daytime isn't washed out and night isn't pitch black.</div><div> </div><div>In EQ1 having that lightsource or a source of vision for humans was a big deal, its not so much in EQ2.</div>

Huh I have a Human Monk and I never had any problems with places being too dark. Then again I tweeked ever setting in the video options I could find.<div></div>

<div>Nah. Seeing in the dark isn't a problem. It's just more convenient to have a light source regardless.</div>

I don't care for the green glow.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>By "Monk-Usable Lightsources" I mean armor that gives off light. Not a lightsource itself, but an item we can wear and benefit from it's stats that has a lightsource included.</p><p> </p><p>Here's to hoping that us monks are one day introduced to the Celestial Fists again.
