<DIV>Okay, I really goofed or possibly did something wrong.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I finished the AQ6 and got my gi. The assistant next to Selwyn says I can trade my old gi for a new one.</DIV> <DIV>I was hoping it was something different as I really didnt care for the look of the gi. Hopefully this would </DIV> <DIV>be a different one. I tried clicking on him and finding any kind of trade option...nothing... all I could do was</DIV> <DIV>sell him the gi. Well, that just cost me my gi. He did not show that he was selling anything(buy screen</DIV> <DIV> was blank) I lost my gi and feel like an idiot. It took me forever to do these quests and I just sold my gi</DIV> <DIV> for 83copper. Of course, I really don't like the fact the assistant had that "you can trade" message. Is </DIV> <DIV>there a certain way you're suppose to trade with him or is he just broken? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

OMG, how awful.   That has got to be a bug.  There should at least be some way to cancel the sale since there is no replacement for the new Gi being offered.   I would definitel /bug it, /petition it, and do your best to get the gi back.  Be extraordinarily polite when you bug and write the petition.  I have found GM's to be very helpful most of the time (every time except once actually and I wrote an onion letter that time), and I believe that it is because I am very friendly and courteous in my contacts with them.  Remember that people tend to want to help people they like, so be likable, even though it can be hard when you are justifiably angry about the loss.  GM's are people too :smileywink: <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am so sorry.  I hope a kind GM gives you back your Gi soon.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Quijana</DIV> <DIV>Lost Coast Privateers, Nektulos</DIV>

<div>This is really bad. I heared you can trade the Gi or buy the other one after you finished all of the AQ. I'm sure it's a bug and</div><div>you should send a petition and bug repport. It might take a while till you get an answer but I hope they give you back your Gi.</div><div> </div><div>All that work for nothing would be just plain awfull!!</div><div> </div><div>Hope all works out well and you can soon look like a cool monk.</div>

<div>Thx for the responses guys. Yeah, I sent a CSR ticket first. They replied very quickly and were sympathetic to my situation, but told me I would have to send a bug report. I just sent one yesterday. Don't worry I was very polite and informative. I'm more annoyed than angry. It was very difficult to do the quests, but it was a great adventure along the way. The new(I guess they're new since an old monk told me his were different) requirements for the armor quests pretty much force you to group, but I'm glad it did. I met a lot of nice and helpful people.</div><div> </div><div>On a side note: I'm new to Everquest 2 and so far the experience has been a blast. I'm on the AB server and I've met some great people. I really enjoy the questing and general environment. Oh and kudos to the Monk FAQ!!!</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div><p>I sold my Santa Hat. )= I put in a ticket explaining it was an accident and requesting a chance to buy it back, but have received no responses. I find that the saddness over the loss of my hat has taken root and I'm becoming a Grinch running pell mell through the harbor pelting people with snowballs. )=</p>

<div></div><p>this assistant only use is only for old monk (or those who did the quest before AQ was patched) who are allowed to buy the new orange gi (the old one was white and with different stat), but it's a bit misleading for new player since they can believe the assistant will trade their gi for something else while in fact the only use is to sell the new orange monk set ^_^ to old monk (or..)</p><p>(now i have 2 gi ! a white one and the orange ... which i dont like much in fact <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)</p>

<div></div><p>Nice to know that you can buy the new gi without having to sell him your old gi :smileyvery-happy: </p><p>And Rrawl, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your hat.  Unfortunately accidentally selling an item to a merchant is not something that GM's seem willing to fix.   Luscion is in a different situation in that the assistant is misleading and there is no option to cancel once the dialogue has begun.  Still, give /petition a shot. We can hope the spirit of Frostfell is alive and well in the GM who reads your petition. And in the meantime you can terrorize the community with unprovoked snowball attacks!</p><p>Good luck!</p><p>Quijana</p><p>Lost Coast Privateers, Nektulos</p><p> </p>

<div>I haven't heard anything since sending the bug report.</div><div>I don't think I will be getting my gi back. I guess one positive that comes</div><div>from this is that new players can read this thread and know</div><div>that Selwyn's assistant will not give you a gi if you sell your</div><div>existing one to him.</div><div> </div>

<div></div><img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I'm sorry Luscion.  I did the same exact thing, except I sold the shoulder piece or something. It seems like he will trade your "Old stuff" for new version with better stats, since usually by the time you have done the armor quest, you've gotten a better drop, or had to buy better stuff just to kill the mobs.  And selling him a piece for 83cp really makes it look like he'll sell you something back (kind of like with the status drops they sell for less $ but you get the SP if you sell to the right person).  They should definitely fix this as it's incredibly confusing, even to seasoned players.
