View Full Version : Monk healing abilities
Hey all. New monk here (bored of my coercer). I was excited when I hit 20, and received mend. However, after using it, I was a little surprised at the recharge rate v. the amount healed. I could understand the long recharge if it healed a significant amount of hp's, but it doesn't seem to be worth casting -- I honestly think I might regen hp's faster. I was wondering: Should I spend money on an upgrade? Do the heals get better or quicker? Thank you. <div></div>

You're not a healer by any means... but this skill is quite worth upgrading. It can raise your solo game by far and allow you take on mobs you otherwise wouldn't. It can make a great emergency heal in a group/raid if the healer(s) fall behind or run out of power. I can't count the number of times me having quick refelexes with this heal has kept another person in a group or raid from going down, and giving them that extra shot of time for the healer(s) to ctach up. It upgrades very nicely.

<DIV>What it really comes down to is that Monks are not healers. Think of it as an emergency heal to use before you die so the healer has a better chance to heal you. My current version Compress Master I heals from 22% to 26%.. I've healed myself for 570hps lastnight and it was the difference between winning and losing the fight.Also while in DFC I hit the MT with this just in time and gave the healer enough time to get the heal off. We died anyways but still for that moment we had a chance.This was one of the no-brainer upgrade for me. I can't count how many times I have used this. Even if it's just to boost my hps between fights while grinding..<div></div>

Monk heal can come in handy. On a raid buffed tank it's one of the largest direct heals out there. granted it can only be used once during a normal fight, but you never know. Also I duo quite a bit with another level 60 monk and you'de be surprised what 2 monks with Tsunami, Outward Calm, and Heal can duo. I'll leave it at that for fear of the nerf bat, but needless to say it's fun to do <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<P>At 54 I have heal master 1 and I have healed I believe up to 1300hp. The max you can do is 37%, which is pretty good. I use it all the time solo and even in groups where a tank or healer is not doing there job it can come in quite handy when someone is about to die.</P> <P>Monks are very versatile, many times I have killed heroic groups that I should not have been able to using my mend and fein death.</P> <P> </P>
