I'm at 52 right now and bored with grouping. I've done all the quests in SS and looking for a decent place to solo where hopefully I could work on some quests as well. Tried PoF for a little bit but the curve was too high. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Lindhorst <div></div>

<P><EM>Bah.  The solo gobby camps in the northeastern portion of PoF should be fine at your level.  Just perfect your solo'ing tactics and you should be fine.  Go for the group encounters in and around each tent.  You'll even have a chance of a named to pop in the tents as well.</EM></P> <P><EM>Good luck! :smileyhappy:</EM></P>

I take my 52 swash in there and work on the solo mobs in the first two rooms. fast respawn, right about your level so fast kills, and loot... loot is good <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><p>Message Edited by Ariven on <span class=date_text>12-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:07 PM</span>

isn't that where all the gnolls and the undead are? I've been there but couldn't find a decent place to pull from where the spawns would be constant. Of course I'm thinking of the place at the two tears in SS.  A bit confused. Lindhorst P.S. Thanks for the suggestions so far. <div></div>

Personally, I'm a big fan of the shimmering citadel. There are a lot of quests up there, and lots of group and solo content. Once you have access you can go up there whenever you want. You can get a mirror to port you there while within PoF and a carpet you can place in your home that lets you port there.I did 52-55ish there solo in about 2 weeks. Awesome cash loot and fast xp. And it's a nice looking zone after staring at desert for so long. <div></div>

was trying to do the access quest for shimmering citadel but the quest preceding that wouldn't work. Zeke Two-Tone wouldn't talk to me. Not sure if there's another way to go about it. <div></div>

I never did get the mirror, I just went along with guildmates and got the carpet, so I can't be of much help there.<div></div>

<DIV>I spent a lot of time in Shimmering Citidel, but I don't recall many solo mobs (naga, shimmering wishes, djinn are mostly heroic).  For the access quest, there are four parts... two from Two-tone (book and harp) and two from Qadira (djinn and named naga).  From the sounds of it, you're just done with what Two-tone has to offer...  Head over to where you grabbed the book (naga island in PoF) for him and in a cave due north of that campfire you'll find a big mirror with Qadira standing (or sitting?) in front of it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>After spending a good portion of my time lately in Living Tombs, I can totally see how it'd be great for the solo'er.  If you're unsure if you've been in there, it's the dreary place with wraiths and mummies and gnolls.  I would venture to say you can work your way to through the corridor to the left of the zone-in on the ground floor.  There you'll find plenty of mobs that are better spaced out than in the initial Trade Court area.  But before you go kamikazi the zone, I suggest you have someone show you the way back to the zone-in, just in case you get tired of it and don't want to be stuck there (gating is not always an option, nor is dying).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh, and if you haven't already, start the Peacock Club quest line.  It's such an epic quest line that shows you so much of Desert of Flames, that you'd really be cheating yourself if you skipped it.  Just about every NPC that I've ever wondered about is involved in this series.  And honestly, if you have the patience, most of it can be done solo (because you're a monk!!!!).</DIV><p>Message Edited by KnowHao on <span class=date_text>12-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:28 AM</span>

A good place just for exp and cash is also the spot with the scorpions just outside the camp in PoF, and you can also try to start the first quests for the amulet of sword of ro, if you have completet the tasks from Ghassan and Rashad <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

scorpions in PoF and all of the mobs on eastern side of SS are nice for soloing at that level.

<DIV>I'd also suggest talk to Tears Grifters for their quests.  The tokens they give you as a reward help when you are trying to build up faction with one of the courts.  They are on a 15-30min timer, so killing guards at the Gilded Twilight Terrace, near the Court of Blades, or near the Court of Truth should make for some decent experience.</DIV>

There is a lot of heroic stuff in shimmering citadel, it is true, but on the pathways there are wandering no arrow djinn with triple down arrow big cats. There are stationary groups in small areas just off the main path with 2 double down arrows, or three single down arrows. They also guard the doorways. These are the mobs I'm talking about. The wisps stay on the grassy area and you can avoid them entirely. If you do get one, FD asap. They can lay some big hits down very quickly.<div></div>

Lol, the exit's easy to get to, but not very obvious.  You have to go to Residence Court (through that corridor on the left that I mentioned) and go up one of the climbable walls on the first building.  This will lead you to the aquaduct that has the roaming ghost dogs and the Steward of Fyr'Un.  Go toward the T-intersection and make a right.  Follow that all the way and you'll be able to jump onto the aquaduct that's above the entrance aquaduct (the one with a couple of agro gnolls to your left).

Along all the yellow brick pathways are solo djinn. Either groups of down arrows, or single wanderers with cat friends. Avoid the grassy areas, because there are ^^^ wisps that pack a wallop there. The path way goes in a loop around the whole center pallace. It can be a bit tricky to avoid the wisps sometimes, so be careful. If you get a wisp, FD asap.  They pack a punch.<div></div>

Shimmering is nice considering you can run around and harvest clickys at the same time. Overall it is a good area to solo but still find Silent City a better stomping grounds based on the amount of mobs to kill and the fact it is safer then having to worry about the wisps.<div></div>

You can get into silent city from the living tombs, but there is also a backdoor directly to the silent city from a cave on the coast of SS. You need access to get in that door. The quest starts inside the silent city at the backdoor. I can't recall the name of the quest off hand, but it's pretty easy to do once you find it.<div></div>

The quest starts from the monkey in LT and requires you camp and kill some named to gain access. I would suggest seeing if someone with the access already will take you down so you can zone in. All the LT access does is allow you to spin a bridge around to cross over and get to the zone. If they will run you, start the quest from the scroll at the Silent City back door from SS which is called Seal of the Sea I think off hand.Either way though doing the LT access is a good way to learn the LT zone. That quest is called Search for Silent City if I recall.<div></div>

01-10-2006, 12:28 PM
Oh right, from within the living tombs only one person needs access and they can zone the whole group. Once inside you can do the back door access quest to be able to enter whenever you want without running through the living tombs.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Question from a Brawler, soon-to-be Monk, : How exactly can you tell if you've come across solo content ? In my few visits to Antonica, for example, the mobs don't actually have a big flashing sign declaring " Solo Content Here ! " . And the way the default con system works, they don't have the words solo in the mob anymore. How about instances ? Does it tell you at the instance entrance if it's solo or not ?</p><p>I just don't want to find myself swamped by mobs that are meant for groups, when doing the solo part of my playing time (i.e. grinding).</p>

x0rtrun

Actually, they do sort of have a big flashing sign. You can tell if they are heroic of solo by the arrows above their head when you have them targeted. Your target box will also say heroic underneath it if the encounter is heroic. No arrows or down arrows (v vv vvv) are solo content. (sometimes a big group of down arrows is actually a heroic encounter though, so watch for linked mobs)You can usually take solo encounters that are a couple levels above you, except that oranges will pose an issue, because you can't hit them easily.Up arrow (^ ^^ ^^^) mobs are heroic. Unless you're pretty uber, these will be off limits to you when soloing. Eventually you may be able to take on green ^ heroics or heroic groups of down arrow mobsAs for instances, it really depends. Some are meant to be soloed and scale to your level, others are meant for groups.<div></div>
