Who makes our writs wraps? I want to try a half [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ed attempted at role playing my little monk (ahh bless, he's only 11 but he's already dropped his first named!) and I reckon he should be wearing writs wraps. Are they any good? Every monk I've seen is dual weilding....

Weaponsmiths make them and it helps if they have a tailor friend for one of the components. And if you have a rare hide you can even get really nice ones. There are three different styles as well

Do you mean fistwraps? Fistwraps are weapons while wristwraps (aka bracers) are armor.

Ah yep, meant fists. And I'm a tailor with a few rare pelts lying around Now, next issue is are they any good?

I'm not certain about the exact stats, but yes, fistwraps are good. They do have a distict dis-advantage though, they have too low delay, meaning you attack too fast. This is not going to be a problem for you at this level though, might even be preferable. However, at higher level, you start accumulating high amounts of attack speed increasing spells, and since there's a minimum delay of 0.8, high attack speed increases will be wasted on fistwraps, since they tend to have 1.3 delay (max attack speed increase is 100%, effectivly halving delay, which means that as you get higher level, you should aim for at least 1.6 base delay on weapons) Again, that wont be an issue at level 11, so go for it

Message Edited by Baelas on 12-22-2005 01:31 PM

Probably overkill, but with your pelts you can make:

Fistwraps - no weapon shown, looks like you fighting with fists - crushing damage done

Cestii - bladed katar type weapons Slashing damage done - sounds like scissors when you're fighting.

Cestus - looks like you've got your hand in a bowl, one with spikes all over the under side. Piercing damage done

All of these fist weapons use crushing skill, regardless of damage type done, and are made by a weaponmith.

Make your pelts into straps for him. (=

I have a quick question related to this: I recently had T3 common Cestii made, and they're spiked salad bowls : Is there any T3 weapons that have the bladed look?

That should be bug reported. You might try the imbued versions, with regular materials, extracts are pretty inexpensive. I think one of the other tiers are like that, the cestii don't have the right graphic, but the imbued cestii do.

Um.... Are Etheric Katar in the T3 range? No, looks like they are T4.
