Cap for attack speed is 100% and for delay 0,8 (atleast has been so far afaik

As a lvl60 monk i can self buff with FBSS over 100% attack speed so it would be best not to take weapons that have a smaller delay than 1,6.

With 1,6 delay and 100% att speed u reach the delay cap of 0,8.

It's all different thou if ur soloing a lot in mixed or def stance. then u can choose weps with even smaller delay if ur not selfbuffing over 100%.. and for grps who have other haste buffers too use weps with longer delay....

Get a set of ironwood quarterstaffs and a set of scaled cestii.

Aye you want to get at least two different sets of weapons ie quarterstaffs for crushing and cestii for slashing. Some mobs are immune to either crushing or slashing damage but never both :smileyhappy:
Message Edited by scalzo on 12-15-2005 03:35 PM

I made a pair of cestii, but I was really disappointed about the moves. You just stand there with legs and arms open wide, and make frog leaps.

I got me a pair of scaled cestii after hitting a nasty mob in the gates of ahket aken that was both crushing and piercing immune. Slashing only was hurtin him, from a physical standpoint.

Anyone know of any piercing only mobs as well? Do we Monks need a pair of Cestus too?

To my knowledge, there are no epic mobs vulnerable to only piercing, but there is an epic encounter that spawns adds which are only vulnerable to piercing.

If I combine cesttii and knuckles, would this provide me slashing and piercing damage, fify/fify? Or does the one equipped in the primary slot overrule the secondary one?

Knuckles are crushing...

Cestii = slashing Cestus = piercing everything else you can equip = crushing

There's probably some loot drop weapons that are fist weapons and count as slashing or piercing (Etheric Katar comes to mind) But the above holds true for the most part, and certainly for all crafted weapons we use.

Oh, and the beetle zapper prod thing... we can pierce with that lol.

2 sets of weapon? I can hardly afford at lvl 51 to upgrade to 1 t6 weapon not even want to mention armour... I harvest a lot, but have yet to find a rare in t6

On a budget get one piece of ironwood and get an imbued bo staff made. You'll not have quite as much dps as a dual wield setup, but you'll be decently equipped at a much lower total cost.

Ironwood is really cheap now at least on CB, so a set of ironwood staves should be not too expensive, like max 2 plat for a set, if you know a weaponsmith (or have a guildie) its even cheaper. For Cestii, pelts cost a bit more, but should be around 1,5plat to 2 plat per cestii.

In POF, lot of epic mobs are immuse to crush. I totally suggest u to use 2hb for crushing weapon.

Then you can change weapon easier.

Besides, the epic mob in Zek instance can summon some mobs immuse both crushing and slashing.

In Lavastorm instance, epic mob is immuse both piecing and crushing.

Im not a 100% sure but i thought the mob outside Ob of lost souls ( the big lizzard) was immune to both crsuh and slash or at least crush immune slash resitant...could be wrong but as many have said u cant go wrong with a set of crushers and slashers pretty much covers anything u r likely to encounter on a daily basis..

so use your leather for slash/pierce weapons cause the delay is better on em in the long haul and wood for crush ( maybe cobalt or rare metal for knucks forget the delay ther 1.5 maybe??)
