<DIV>Hello all...I have been gone a whilest and wish to roll a new clss/subclass designed specifically for soloing. I will have very little time and so I will have fun concentrating on solo quests and solo fighting for the most part.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am thinking that I really want to have a char who has invis feature so I can get in and out on my own quickly when I need to...and not have to wait for help...cause by then I will have run outa time. I also need to be able to kick serious booty by myself and Monks are specialists in that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I am thinking that Monks are sorta made for what I want to do. I know that some casters can invis too but I want to play a fighter again. I have a 40 something Zerker and a Pally in the 20's. Havn't played anything in a long time...over 6 months I think.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So would you all feel confident that this subclass is the way to go? I like fighting strait up and not kiting like a Ranger.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank you for any help you could give.</DIV> <DIV>/bow</DIV> <DIV>Pnaxx</DIV>

....oh...and I also forgot to mention that Monks seem to be one of the best balanced subclasses in the game! I am really thinking this could be the Char for me!:smileytongue:

The monk class is probably the most versatile and solo friendly out of all the fighters. We've got a bit of everything. I know you'll be pleased.<div></div>

Thank you Trunks.....a question....can Bruisers go invis with invis totems? If so, how early can one buy and use invis totems? How long will it keep one invis? Will higher levels of npc's be able to see through the invis?

<P>Hi... I play a 34 Monk and a 60 Conjuror....  I can tell you from my experience that both of those classes are VERY fun to play and can both solo and group exceptionally well.  Im currently loving my Monk, but those pets make the Conjuror very versatile and can tank or go pure dps just like the Monk.  Of course, when we die, its for real!  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>Just wanting to toss that out for you too...</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

hey i figured id throw out my 25 copper, and let you know what i think about monks and such, personally i feel ive had more experiance with monk than nay class in the game, although from time to time i make random alts and try them out, mostly only to shortly before 20 then i get bored with em and most of them have been scout classes and a few warriors. from what i remember of the warrior classes, i got bored easily, as they are not nearly as interesting to play as my monk, who can fill many roles in a group depending on the makeup of the group. my scout class experiance has been mostly limited to soloing, as its next to impossible to find group at my play times(i am stationed in korea), but ranger is a very interesting class to play with. bards are somewhat interesting but their abilities make them less of soloers and more group orientated. still outta all of these my monk is my favorite, just from the fact that i can fill one of 2 roles in a group, DPS or tank. best of all if im drinking, as i do alot of the time( i think i have a bit of a booze problem :O ), if i dont feel up for tanking and dont wanna be responsible for the group's downfall then i can just change stances and whoop some a**. besides i like that fact that if i want, i can haste myself up to over 80% haste(master 2 everburning flame, adept 3 whispering blessing, and FBSS) and really lay the smack down with some monk rage as i call it, after all there is nothing like hitting a mob 6-8 times with auto attack before it hits you once :O. all and all... monk > all..... /enddrunkenramble :O

I have a Warlock and it's a blast dishing out high damage numbers but when it comes down to it my Monk is 10x more fun to play. Between FD and Wind Walk(invis) I can pretty much get into any zone I want as long as the mobs are too high level for me.The other way my Monk invised down to Stormhold VI and took out a Green Heroic ^^^ named mob with little effort at all. My first master spell drop too. On even con solo mobs my Monk can kill nearly as fast as a Wizard and have little worries if things go wrong.<div></div>

Invis scales with your level. If you are grey to a mob, the mob can see you. Some mobs also have innate see invis abilities.Bruisers can use invis totems, and I believe that there are invis totems in every tier. I'm not very familiar with invis totem use... I'm a monk, what do i need a totem for?! :p <div></div>

<DIV>Chameleon totems work for characters level 30 and above. They are the only invisibility totems at this time. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Monks are a very fun class to play.  It has been an eye opening experience for me.  Up until Frogs were freed I played a conjuror, which is a very easy, solo friendly, group friendly class to play.  Lazy class too, since pet does most of the work.  Then I got my beloved Frog, Quijana, and learned what work really was *grin*  Fighters are BUSY. Especially as MT, there is so much going on, so much you have to be aware of.  You really dictate the course of the encounters, so a lot rests on you. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Very eye-opening experience, and one I am enjoying profusely.  Quij is an excellent soloer, and a pretty decent tank (her main role).  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have never played a bruiser and likely never will.  Two main characters are enough :smileytongue:  But my understanding is that monks are more defensively oriented while bruisers are more offensively oriented.  But I don't think you would be disappointed if you chose monk.  Not to mention we have the friendliest and most informative forum around *smiles*   Course the bruisers I know love their class too *shrugs*  So I guess the question is:  Which city do you like better, Qeynos or Freeport?  *grin*</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good luck with your decision.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Quijana</DIV> <DIV>Lost Coast Privateers, Nektulos</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Yah youll find Monks are a great solo class and group with the best of em.  As for getting in and out, you can invis and feign death hop across just about anywhere ya want once you learn the tricks.  With a decent heal up every 3 minutes to use during big encounters and some good defence abilities you'll be soloing all kindsa good stuff.  With my CAs up and my heal up I regularly solo ^^^ blues in SS at my current level.  No matter how many times I switch to alts I always come back to my monk :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ironfist</DIV> <DIV>Lvl 53 Monk</DIV> <DIV>Permafrost</DIV><p>Message Edited by boarderx on <span class=date_text>12-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:20 PM</span>

<P>I tried many classes before I created my monk. I loved him immediately. My playstyle is mostly solo. I'm not a hardcore gamer and don't really enjoy being the main tank in a group. But as a Monk, I can solo very well and am also a decent dps dealer in a group. </P> <P>We have 1 invisi spell, but it eats power. Helps us to get through crowded aggro areas to our favourite hunting grounds.</P> <P> </P> <P>I gave up on most of my other alts. they are just storage mules exept my provisioner alt I'm currently leveling.</P>

<DIV>Yea, Monks, I am begging to understand, are very balanced and the most versatile. I too will be limited in time and when I need to get through aggro to get to where I need to be the ability to invis will be very helpful indeed....and then to FD when needed is great! I am really starting to want to be a Monk now. Oh yea...heals too! Yup...tis soundin reall good to me...plus I really don't feel like betraying another char and spending all that time sitting around killing 500 gnolls!:smileyvery-happy:</DIV>

<div></div>Im not sure you understand how the city good vs evil is set up, due to your comments in here and in the bruiser forum.   If you want to be a Monk and NOT betray; start in Qeynos           In the Qeynos to Freeport betrayal you kill orcs (Wailing caves) If you want to be a Bruiser and NOT betray; start in Freeport           In the Freeport to Qeynos betrayal you kill gnolls (black burrow) <span><blockquote><hr>Pnaxx wrote:<div>Yea, Monks, I am begging to understand, are very balanced and the most versatile. One more question....do you all use Invis alot? Is it essential do you think? The Bruisers don't seem to think so.:smileyvery-happy:

I like it.I use it when harvesting to get around things,Or when trying to get to where my group is without aggro-ing things etc.I cant say its really essential but bruisers are just jealous :smileyhappy:

<DIV>I use it to get to my group or the place I want to go to fast without fighting all the aggro mobs standing in between me and my goal.</DIV> <DIV>Saves time to get to places fast.</DIV>
