Weapon question from a frustrated monk...

Alright; I made a monk in the first place so I could have a fun class that could dual wield katars.I just recently bought 2x cestii from the broker, thinking that both would have the katar graphics since, well...thats what the icon of the weapons look like.Problem is, only ONE of the weapons looked like a katar. The other one, well... looked like a tupperware bowl with spikes on it.I looked at the names of the weapons to see if I could distinguish the difference in the future when I purchase better weapons.The only difference I could find was that:-the katar one is imbued, the spiky bowl is not.- the bowl has the word "tailored" in it, the katar does not.Does that mean that ALL tailored cestii look like punch bowls from hell?ANY help is appreciated...I want my 2x katars, dammit! :p

most 'cestii' look like katars while most 'cestus(es?)' look like spikey bowls of doom.  That said, I recentlymade a friend a set of bioled cestii and they came out with the bowl graphic.  At the higher tiers, cestii are almost always katar looking, though.

Thats good then...I am only lvl 24, so hopefully I can get myself a nice pair of katars at higher levels :p

There is a quest in EL that gives a katar as a weapon, and it did use the katar graphic. I did it with a friend, and he gave me his so I could DW. It used the stabby punching motion, so i think it must have been piercing. So you can get those at around lvl 30ish. <div></div>

<P>I am pretty sure crafted etched or engraved cestii will gvie you the desired graphic (usable at 30+).  Also, I know augmented and scaled do for later in your career. </P> <P> </P> <P>edit - crafted augmented cestii on my picture in my sig for reference - there is an even more katar-looking graphic that is usually only on fabled cestii and a few other random items where it is one large triangular blade.  I *think* rock-forged cestii, a fabled drop for 30-40 characters, have that graphic.</P> <p>Message Edited by Bladewind on <span class=date_text>12-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:39 AM</span>
