View Full Version : Stealth, Invisibility and Wind Walk. Why are Monks Gimped??
<DIV>Brothers and Sisters, I seek your guidance and help.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Recently I have begun to notice that our Wind Walk ability seems to not work on any creatures that are triple up and above grey con. I have also noticed that Scouts with their Invisibility and Mages with their invisibility are still able to walk through these mobs with no issues. (See my previous post for details <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=spellart&message.id=70975&jump=true#M70975" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=spellart&message.id=70975&jump=true#M70975</A>)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or if its just me. If it is just me, please help me in correcting this issue. If its not just me, then I feel we need to put our voices together and make the Dev Gods hear us and fix our ability so that we too can once again walk in the shadows.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tygrus</DIV> <DIV>30th Monk</DIV>

<div></div>All invisibility spells are the same. Invisibility spells scale with level. Meaning that your Invisibility spell, which ever it may be, will fail you if you con grey to the mob, or if the mob has see invis. The only difference between invisibility spells among the classes is power cost, who you can cast it on, etc. Put away the tinfoil hat, there is no conspiracy here. Unless of course you have specific mobs that are grey to you and a scout friend and who do not have see-invis abilities that see through yours but not the scouts. If you do, let us know and we can test it too. <div></div><p>Message Edited by x0rtrunks on <span class=date_text>12-01-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:45 PM</span>

Hrm, mine was working fine when I used it last night. I thought this skill had been changed to adjust itself as you leveled, ie no replacements or upgrades...

<span><blockquote><hr>Zaymot wrote:<div>So, I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or if its just me. </div><hr></blockquote> It's just you. I can waltz through Clefts of Rujark almost completely unmolested outside of the rare mob with innate/self-buffed see-invis or nameds.</span><div></div>

I've used Wind Walk successfully in the Silent City raid area, so I'm pretty sure its just you.

I was able to use wind walk to sneak around sinking sands and get to my group when the spiders were red to me (barely, next lvl they became orange) <div></div>

Could it be that you're "casting" something after using wind walk? Because that would immediately break your invis. Wind walk works just fine, but somehow I assume that you're trying to sprint after invising, or some such -- in this case you are no longer invis.

It works just fine for me. There are some mobs that do see through it, but not too many. It all depends on the mob. For example, the Sandcrawler Bandits in Pillars of Flame see through it (level 50-52ish solo mobs), whereas desert raptors in SS (yellow to me at 50, all ^^^) don't. I've found that some nameds do see through it as well, but again that would come down to innate ability or buff.
