View Full Version : animations on Kick and whirl

ok i just started a monk and currently i am at lvl25, doing the armor quests from selwyn, what actually caught my eye was that when i got kick, and whirl the animations where real cool, kick had the roundhouse kick to it, and whirl had the jump ura mawashi to it, now i got sparkling cobra ( i hope i'm not mixing up names of ca's) and it's a different animation with a jump and a back hand hit, also the kick ca i got on 25 looks like a front kick although all u see is him raising his knee and thats it... why would they remove the cool martial art animation and replace with these regular one?? will the future CA's i get use those cool animation again? the only animation that i have 2 CA's of is the jump back kick, thats nice yes...but i want the other two animations i mean u c them in the lvl20 fluff spell. so plz just tell me they come back into the game somehow, i don't want to use grey CA's just for the animation <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Zankon <div></div>
<P>Finally, someone else has noticed this.</P> <P>I remember how cool it was to get Biting Mantis, and it had the electrified martial arts kick that's used as the first kick in Silent Fist Kata... I *loved* that animation. After LU 13, we lost that animation and got that 'straight boot to the gut kick' animation that doesn't even complete. Why? I want that animation back, cause it looked cool. <DIV>Animations can change depending on what type of weapons you are using. For a long time, I used dual wield maces -- kicks were simply boot to gut. Then I moved to fist weapons (cestii and katar) and kicks were higher. I also did more spin and jump moves. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now I vary between a bo staff and fist weapons. When I taunt with the fist weapons, it is a 'come-here-and-get-me' hand motion; with the bo staff, I spin the weapon around my body, ending with thumping it on the ground.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not sure if you have recently changed weapons, but it could account for it if you have.</DIV>

Something even worse is the old, cooler snap kick animation for Biting Mantis was placed on a lower level tier kick, like T1 "kick" or thrust kick, and you can only see it when you become a monk. Which is ironic because by that time you've got it's superior... <div></div>
