I choose tailor because I thought I can make my own armor... well, I'm a lvl 38 monk, but only a lvl 33 tailor.

Therefore if I want to make my own armor, my TS lvl hast to be at least the same or higher than my adventurer lvl.

I chose Alchemy too. Wanted to make my own CAs. 48 monk now, 39 alchemist. 1 more level and I can finally upgrade Control Breathing lol. I tell ya, I've seen it ONCE in many weeks on the broker, and it was 11gp for an Adept 1. No thanks!

If I could chose again I'd be an Alchemist. The ability to make all those potions and my own adepts beats the ability to make food and drink. The only other tradeskill that would tempt me would be woodworker, for the various totems; sow, invis, mana regen etc.

alchemy here, best thing for a lizard to do since our racial traditions give us either increased tailoring or chemistry

Took weaponsmith, hate it. Haven't done any crafting since the update that made it possible for all classes to make subcomponents because the only thing worth while that we could make for money was spikes.

I'd go alchemy for sure to make my own adepts/potions

Jeweler, mostly because I am easily distracted by shiny objects. I enjoy it, but I do not do it as a money maker. I'm a tier below my main, so it has not helped him too much, but it is nice to be able to outfit the right side of the inventory window on my alts without batting an eye.

If you want to pick up a class to help your toon, you have to keep your tskill level at or above the end of the tier where your adventure level is. IE, if your toon is in its 30's, then you want to be a 39+ tskiller. As soon as your toon hits 40, you want to have your tskill level at 49+. This ensures that you have all recipes for that tier and can outfit yourself with the best equipment.

I'd guess provisioner would not need to be as far ahead so long as you could make somekind of current tier food, and carpenter would depend on your taste in deco, so your level there could be completely independent.

I chose Alchemist so I could make my own Skill upgrades. No since in paying form one an outrageous price when you can take 5 minutes and make the same item yourself for about 100th the price.

I picked provisioner because my alt is an alchemist, and the forge hates me

I chose tailor, because dressing women up in pretty clothes means I get to take their measurements. :smileywink:

Joke's on me since we don't get to make any pretty clothes. Ah well, at least I can make my armor and hex dolls and a pouch and sack for my stars.

Minor alterations and what not. I've got a good eye, but I can't get the pants THAT skin tight without a few minor adjustments here and there. :smileysurprised:

Message Edited by Rrawl on 11-18-2005 02:40 PM

I chose Provisioner and just got 60 today. Thus far, I haven't made any real coin off of it, because I didn't want to devote the time to make stacks and stacks as needed to make a living.

Pros - You're never hungry The only station you need to go to is the stove. The fuel costs are much lower. Everyone needs food/drink (i.e. you're not catering to a niche market)! Gives you a reason to build your fishing skills to 300

Cons - No big ticket items, really (i.e. you can't really make 20+g crafting a single item). Prices for raws can be crazy if you don't harvest your own. No big money rares from shrubs.

The reason I picked being a provisioner is because I love to cook in RL. No matter what MMORPG I play, I usually end up rolling some kind of martial arts / chef type character So I might be biased.
