<DIV>Howdy all, first I would like to introduce myself, for I am Brrupp Furyflipper proud member of Currahee on the Befallen server. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I started my monk right after I unlocked the frogloks for my account (the solo quest when the quest became available). Well I pretty much ditched my ranger at that point. </DIV> <DIV>My wife and I duo, Froglok Monk and Fury. Together we are quite the team. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am very taken with the cestii graphic on my monk and will not give up these dual wielding weapons. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For this reason, am I not playing my monk to the fullest of his abilities? Should I swallow my pride for these weapons and get something else?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>With the next Live Update, dual wield weapons will be getting a damage boost, and the faster your weapons, the harder it will become to be reposted by a monster or other player.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can't speak and say if it's best for you to give up Dual Wielding for a 2h weapon. It depends on the situation at hand. On the one hand, you can switch to a 2h weapon for stronger damage output, but it probably won't be so significant an upgrade that it would be worth losing the stats of using dual wielding.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At 53 I'm still using dual wielding for the stats, and because I can't find a good 2hb weapon that doesn't make me completely abandon strength and agility for Wisdom and Intellegence (its very hard to find a weapon that is statistically suited for monks at the higher end of the game, unless you're in a raid guild).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I still do a very high amount of damage either way.</DIV>

Dont you just love those Bo animations though?! :smileyhappy:
<P>I use both. </P> <P>I like the cesti graphic and the stats for duel weilding but I bought a Imbude Bone Bo Staff and I love the fight graphics and the damage on it also so I just use what ever I feel like at the time :smileyhappy:</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>Well I mainly tank, cause I usually only play with my wife or other guildies around my level. </DIV> <DIV>My wife has said that healing me is easier on her mana than some of the other folks that have tanked for us. :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV>I to try and keep my str and agi high, and sta is between those two. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now I am on a quest to find 2 feysteel clusters for 2 Pristine Imbued Feysteel Cestii. /drool</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Is anyone else having trouble raising slash and pierce skills? I only used crushing up to level 30, but since 30 I have been using at least one slash or pierce weapon along with one crush weapon. I am almost 32 now and I have yet to get a single skill gain in slash or pierce. Is this working correctly? Does the damage type on fist weapons not correlate to the skill and all are considered crush weapons for purposes of skill checks?

All weapons use crush for +to-hit. You can *not* raise slash/pierce anymore. Every single brawler weapons uses the crush skill. However cestii do slashing damage and cestus do piercing damage. I'm pretty sure this is in the monk FAQ.

Maybe we need to make a sticky thread called SLASHING/PIERCING QUESTIONS ANSWERED HERE! <div></div>

Thanks for the info. I suspected that might be what was happening since I wasn't missing at all with those weapons and I should have been.

we all start as fighters... the slashing/piercing skill you have is from those days before reaching brawler.
