View Full Version : My observations.
<DIV>Just reactivated.. ok so..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the game has not changed much besides the huge decrease in population and the market got even smaller... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mobs are just ten times harder and soloing seems even less of an option now...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Activated hoping it would have improved, but its got the same reasons still pending why I quit in the first place. But yeah. Not worth my 15 bucks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I might give it a more open minded approach tomorrow. But yeah. I didnt have any fun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just a little rant....</DIV>
<DIV>And this forum is pretty much dead. EQ2 kinda crashed and burned :smileysad:</DIV>
<DIV>Gaige is still here though. I remember when id post a topic and there'd be 5 replies in 5 minutes or less...</DIV>

<P>Don't know what all people have about soloing should be impossible .. in the last 3 weeks i mainly soloed a conjurer to 42 and a monk to 28 .. so i really don't know where the problem is <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P>

<P>/shrug</P> <P>Summer is over, for one thing. These forums and the boards in general are still pretty busy. Our in-game channel is *really* busy. I think the combat/spell changes really helped our class, and I don't see solo'ing as a problem at all really.</P> <P>Welcome back by the way, and yes I'm still here <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>
<P>I remember you, Mr Wiou, if that helps at all. Sorry you don't find EQ2 any more dynamic than when you left. The boards <EM>are</EM> pretty dull nowadays, although there's currently plenty of energy on the Guardian forums (they're very angry, you see).</P> <P>The changes to the game have been pretty good in at least some aspects, but the way they've been implemented have, I think, added to the player exodus. I'm losing interest myself to be honest, and have just transferred my Monk to the Bazaar in the hope of recouping a little money.</P> <P>Most of my mates from the early days have had enough of the constant 're-imagining' and have buggered off to pastures new (and less complicated). Maybe it's just me, but it seems that many of the players who remain tend to be very cliquey and terribly serious - and consequently I find myself soloing most of the time. Which is fairly stupid seeing as this is a multi-player game.</P> <P>Anyway, welcome back and I hope you have more fun than I've been having.</P> <DIV> :smileysad:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Soloing is not a problem, lots of new people coming to our server everyday. Everyone seems really happy with the monk changes so far.</DIV>

Actually, just about <STRONG>everything</STRONG> has changed, so you've got to re-learn what you knew your monk to be before you cancelled. I'm not gonna spell it all out because it's all in the forums, just this much for a quick brush-up: Make sure you have the right equipment and your combat arts at appropriate levels, and learn what your combat arts do now (not what they did before). Auto-attack on and going for a smoke no longer works! If you learn what your monk is all about NOW, you'll find soloing to be actually much easier and especially faster than before.</P> <P>Good luck! :smileyhappy:</P></BLOCKQUOTE></DIV>

<div></div><div></div>I don't think soloing is hard at all. I can solo 1 ^^^ mob 1 level below my level. True it's a quite a fight but i can do it. But the ^^ and ^ go down like cake, most that i've been able to kill is 2 lvls higher of ^^. I think it really depends on what lvls ur skills are and just relearning how to use them all. <div></div><p><span class="time_text"> </span></p><p>Message Edited by geospawn on <span class=date_text>10-31-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:02 AM</span>

Gear and spell quality really determine what you're able to handle mob wise, assuming you know how to play your class in the first place. If you are in all crafted rare there really isn't much in your tier that you can't handle solo. Tripple up blues are duoable and maybe even soloable if you're really awesome. It may not be as efficient as killing a lot of weaker mobs though. Quest xp is crucial to fast lvling i find. And there are a lot of solo quests. Soloing has never had it so good if you ask me. Personally, i group for fun, or to get loot more than to xp. If i just wanna grind away for a bit, i'll solo. A guy in my guild just came back from a 3 month absense and was having a REAL hard time getting used to the fact that he can't take on reds anymore. He was getting mad and crying nerf and was starting to really hate the changes. Once it was explained to him what had happened and he went after content he could actually handle, he was able to gain 3 lvls in 1 day. (100% vit mind you <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) He stopped getting mad, accepted the changes, and found content appropriate to his lvl and gear. He just had to get over the shock. <div></div>
for starters.. what kind of weapons should I be looking at at 38? Right now I have a 2h I forgot the name.. and two seeds of tenders... and it seems the same.. still press the same buttons for attacking, still taunt, seems to be the same mitigation, the only thing ive noticed is just harder mobs and slightly different stances. If im missing something clue me in. So ... where's this good place to solo these uber experience giving ^^^ mobs? <div></div>

At 38 start saving your copper for Tier5 stuff. Cedar imbued stuff for weapons and augmented leather for armour. Learn to use your stances. get them upgraded if you have the means. spider stance at 44 is pretty sweet too for soloing (and tanking sometimes) Don't set your heart on soloing ^^^ anything, you'll likely be dissapointed. and even if you could, they probably would be slow and difficult xp. Yellow solo mobs are pretty decent xp. and even blue ^ heroics are good. At 38 i think rivervale or even runnyeye or feerot would be a good place to go. <div></div>
