The answer to both your questions, is Yes. I believe barbarians have +5 defense. so thats a good choice.

ok... thanks

Just read the first few pages and i like what i've seen. Monks seem to be a very nice class.

I also printed out a few facts that were stickied at the top of the pages and in one of them said that monks use blunt objects as weapons.

Where do i get weapons for monks from... never seen anything monk related on the weapons sellers around towns. Would i have to purchase them from a brooker or will i recieve them ( fist weapons ) from quests etc.

Ignore the sellers around town, they sell crap. There are a couple of quests that reward blunt weapons, or you can buy them from the broker. Remember that blunt weapons also include 2-handed staffs, which work very well too. You'll get a very decent bo for completing the monk class quest at level 20 for example. Check out http://eq2.ogaming.com/ for Qeynos-related quests, there's plenty to do. :smileyhappy:

Three, I would say yes to both your question as well. I play a barbarian monk and I am very satisfied with him. Sorry I dont remember where the building is for the brawler quest. You may want to check the Brawler forums, you will probably find answers to most of your questions there.

The only problem with Barbarian monks is they can never truely reach the level of awesomeness that comes from teh Gnome-Fu.

Don't worry about fist weapons. 2-handed weapons are just as good -- many monks actually prefer them over dual wield, because you get less ripostes from opponents due to slower, but harder hitting.
