<DIV>I posted something like this is the Combat Changes section but wanted to get some monk feedback.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I FD successfully to get the mob off me (when not MTing) and I am successful in my attempt, after standing back up the mob turns around and resumes attacking me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm not sure how our CA, when it works, can clear aggro completely on mobs when solo. But when grouped and trying to clear aggro, it occasionally doesn't work. I'm not sure I understand how that can happen. I thought that our FD abilities cleared aggro, especially when we use it and the mob starts beating on someone else. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How is it then when I stand back up the mob instantly turns and attacks me again? My attack isn't even on at that point.</DIV>

<DIV>Nowhere in the skill description does FD say it reduces agro <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It removes you from the encounter, but that only breaks the encounter if you're alone. Otherwise, the mob is still going to have its hate settings for you unchanged.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I've accidentally drawn too much agro and need to stop taking so much damage, I usually turn on Stone Stance until either the main tank has agro again, or the rest of the group has killed the mob.</DIV>

<P>Ok that's a new one to me. You are right, it doesn't say it should reduce agro in the description. That was an EQ1 carry-over for me and a bad assumption.</P> <P>I will still use FD, but to:</P> <P>1) Stop taking damage immediatelly</P> <P>2) Count to 5 (or something) so that the MT regains the agro lead.</P> <P> </P> <P>Still usefull I think. I just need to rethink it a little and better work my timing (especially when standing up again <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)</P> <P> </P>

When in a group, if things go to pot, i usually try to get as much agro as i can while my mates run away, then i flop and the mob takes after them, then i get up again and the mob comes running back to me, when it gets close i flop again and he takes off after the group again. repeat. all the while they are getting farther and farther away and can either zone to clear agro, or just get out of range. <div></div>

I believe FD wipes aggro clean.<BR></P>
<P>if you fd as soon as you gain aggro, that 2-3 secs it takes to fall and get back up and re-engage is normally enough for a tank to do enough damage (maybe even get a taunt in) to keep aggro. Try holding aggro for about 20 secs (need a ^^^ for this) then fd, when you pop back up you will have aggro.</P> <P> </P>

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV> A funny thing happened last night that caused me to regain aggro after FD while soloing. The mob went back to it's spawn spot, but I still had a dot on me and it triggered my imbued leggings. It was cool watching the fireball fly way off into the distance. I guess the proc on the leggings has unlimited range.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> -Brillig</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
<P>shame we dont have a vid cap of that, would have been funny.</P> <P> </P>

Yeah I have seen this too with the FD not clearing aggro. It is too obvious it has happened to us all so I guess that spells out that in a group it does not reduce aggro. But as was said later the few seconds you are on the ground if the tank is doing his / her job he / she is regaining aggro while yer flopped out on the ground:smileyvery-happy:</P> <P>I LOVE the monk class, tried Bruiser for a while and was like "screw this" and went monk and I love it.</P>
