<DIV>My girlfriend and I are just getting into EQ2 (coming from WoW). I was thinking of making either a monk or bruiser (suggestions post-patch?) and she's still undecided on which class to play. She is leaning towards either a Druid or Shaman, but if another class would be better i'm sure she's willing to play pretty much whatever. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, which class makes the good duo partner for a brawler? And (again, post-patch), which brawler subclass is better for solo? grouping? PvP?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks.</DIV>

<EM></EM> <DIV><EM>My wife and I enjoy to duo quite a bit.  She's a paladin, I'm a monk - and we seem to hold our own very well.  With her buff line she can keep me very well protected by increasing my physical mitigation and avoidance, she can buff up my STR and STA, plus with her Lay on Hands and my Compress - we have emergency heals in case things get nasty.</EM></DIV> <DIV><EM></EM> </DIV> <DIV><EM>If you do decide to take a monk and duo, be prapared to learn what it means to use your skill line to great efficiency.  I cannot emphasize this enough - especially after the revamp.  You're definitely not a "static" toon.  You'll be very dynamic in the way you hold agro, DPS and control the situation as main tank. All in all, it will be challenging but very rewarding.  I love playing my monk and my wife enjoys her pally.  :smileyhappy:</EM></DIV> <DIV><EM></EM> </DIV> <DIV><EM>As for other healing classes, you'll have to get the low-down from them - because I really don't have much information concerning how they fare post-revamp.  I would assume any cleric/druid class will be your best bet, though.</EM></DIV> <DIV><EM></EM> </DIV> <DIV><EM>Good luck!</EM></DIV> <DIV><EM></EM> </DIV> <DIV><EM></EM> </DIV><p>Message Edited by JudyJudy on <span class=date_text>09-16-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:14 AM</span>

<DIV>I think Shamen tend to work best with Monks.  Shammy can pop a ward onto a monk and it'll last longer than it would on other classes because the Monks don't get hit as often.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Shammy is a good choice for a monk duo if your looking for a healer to back you up. I play an Illusionist and duo quite well with my wife (she's the monk) so it really depends on what the two of you are happy playing. As an illusionist I can offer a lot of mitigation thru mez, stifle, and stun. So she doesn't take as much damage and usually does just fine with compress as the occasional needed heal. <div></div>

Illusionist. I duo constantly with one. If my stifle doesn't stick, hers does. Her pet can pull and add DPS. Mana regen is amazing, mezzing of adds makes multi-mob encounters easy. Power drains, Some Nukes, etc. We destroy stuff that I see healer/Fighter duos get smoked by. <div></div>
