Two Questions Regarding Devastation Fist

<DIV>I finally snagged my Devastation Fist tonight and I must say, great fun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have two questions, however.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Firstly, does Devastation Fist count towards our EQ2players character achievements on Highest Magic Hit (or Melee Hit) or is it excluded? Mine has yet to udpate, so I'm unsure if its just taking a while or if its excluded.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Secondly, I copied Ribbitz to beta before I received Devastation Fist, but I've heard rumors that Devastation Fist has been nerfed down to a hard hit instead of an anti-non heroic death touch. This is a disturbing claim, since the last thing we need is everyday attack. Other classes got unique abilities, such as Guardians ability to remain alive after death, I was happy with Devastation Fist as a fun utility spell that also helped me solo a tad easier (I have yet to ever be in a situation with a group where I HAD to use an ability like Devastation Fist, since I've never really had trouble in a group against a non-heroic encounter, hehe).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone validate these claims? Obviously the spells function in PvP needed to be either removed or dumbed down, which is fine, I am happy with a % based damage attack (or even a hard hitter as a finishing spell) in PvP where it still stifles us, because outright killing your opponent with full life was madness. However, the PvE portion I really hope remains untouched. I don't feel its overpowered compared to the other spells available to other classes through bloodline. I'll admit, theyre all AMAZING spells (the ones I've seen anyway) but I don't feel our ability to kill a weak opponent that won't ever threaten a group to any great extent is any more overpowered than the ability to remain alive against a raid encounter after you've already been killed.</DIV>

Fist on beta/test has changed a little.. instead of doing 220% of max hp in damage and affecting mobs level 50 and below.. it now does 107% (lol yea, like it matters here..) and only affects targets 49 and under. I haven't tried it in a duel on anyone lower than 50 yet to see what it would do.. but it used to 1 hit all on Test.. man, 15 minutes of that on Live would have owned <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> EDIT: I think in the arena and in duels all damage is cut in half.. so I guess that 220% - 107% change means that in duels it will only do 53.5% of the targets max health.. still a huge hit, but it will only work on targets 49 and lower.. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Reposado on <span class=date_text>08-30-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:12 AM</span>

<P>Woot, Gaige, I beat your 13100 Devastation Fist! (Update on EQ2players isn't reflecting it yet, but soon!).</P> <P>Pulled out a 13190 in Feerrott this evening. Hehe, 90 magical points! Oddly enough, the mob was only level 40 and gave me a much nicer Dev Fist than the mobs in Lavastorm I'd been picking on lately.</P> <P>We may as well enjoy it before it gets shot down some, I say. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>
