Alright, dinged level 48 roughly 2 days ago and decided that I'd go ahead and check to see if there's anything new for my monk to use. Nothing, of course. So I check my equipment to see what's grey. Turns out my only grey item is my Fishbone earring. Now, I was wondering if the stats on this earring are better than any others out there, and if not, what are the others? Second quest, stat wise and usefullness, how good is the Ancient Slayers Ring of Agility for a monk? Should I still use it or upgrade, and if I should upgrade, what should I get? Thanks in advance, Zile <div></div>

personally, for the most part i count stat pts.  str sta and agi.  ancient slayer rings have like 9 and 5, giving you 14 useful stat pts.  imbued ruby rings have something like 8, 6 and 4, giving you 18.  i kinda fell out of the dps mindset a while back when i came into a position in which i was tanking alot, and with the changes on the horizon, i won't be going back to that mentality.  therefore, 3% haste isn't worth much imo.  i'm sure that the expansion will have new haste items anyhaw. not sure i understand why fighters pwr pools are based on str.  i would prefer sta, but that's just me.  my pwr pool is kinda weak, because i lean on sta and agi a bit.  to me, all the pwr in the world is worthless if you can't survive to put it to use. mitigation is a great thing for monks too, especially now that we aren't going to be in much of a dps role.  i read that jewelry mitigation is getting axed, which as far as fighters go, is going to hurt us the most.  we get a greater % of our overall mitigation from jewelry.  of course everyone knows we already have glass jaws, and no hp buffs.  read an interesting post ( i forget who wrote it) about the mitigation cap.  a beef-cake guardian buffs out to max mitigation, and throws on a robe of the invoker, because he's that cool, and still  caps out.  and as a bonus, wearing the lighter armor gives him better avoidance.  i hope soe has something in mind for that, because that's silly to me on so many lvls.  anyway, just my 1 cent.  i'd give you 2, but you'd hafta wait till payday. <div></div>

Some people use the earring of the champion, but in all honesty I doubt I'd toss my FBE for anything but Earring of Disintegration or maybe Runed Combine Bauble.
