I asked this in monk channel the other day but few were on at the time and those that were online were unsure, so i'll pose the question to a wider audience. The question being, does haste from say, fbss or everburning fire work with ranged weapons such as shurikens? Was going to parse it myself but i'm not entirely sure how to go about it, so if anyone wants to let me know fire away I have combatstats for parsing for reference. Anyway, the question stands, anyone done any number crunching on this?

I'm pretty sure haste is auto attack only, and that would be melee auto attack.

i dunno, seems to me that haste works with ranged. i didn't parse it or anything, but i had haste up to 110, and my toon seemed to be flinging axes like a crazed mad-man. /shrug

Correct me if I'm wrong but a ranger with haste can fire arrows out like crazy. I think the same applies to monks. The haste affects your melee and ranged combat, just not combat arts.

aye

I haven't parsed anything, but it feels like I'm throwing my stars at a faster rate with haste than without.

I know that it dun affect CA's, but I think it affects all auto attacks, melee AND ranged

Haste effects ranged and melee I have the sixtas and a hardened cestii, during ranged attacks they have procced and i noticed my throwing of the shiruken increased greatly, so it just has to effect ranged.

Sorry for the off topic but anyone had a chance to see if haste items stack after the changes ? Like Bangle of Manipulation and Girdle of Conquering. In EQ1 Item Haste didnt stack, in EQ2 it did all the time. Any changes ?

Noogi

Message Edited by Noogi on 08-18-2005 02:26 AM

Although I haven't crunched any numbers it does appear to effect ranged auto attack. I often get to 256 haste and I can see the daggers fly out (AT 3.5s A POP!!!!). Not sure what the haste cap is but my HUD shows a 256 attack speed.

Alright, with my FBSS and 1 Ancient Slayers ring plus the Harclave buff, I have 101% haste from what the "/show_window MainHUD.Character" command showed me. Now, I then used Everburning Fire(Adept1), which gives 36% haste. I then checked my haste again and it only said 125%. I can't get it above 125% not matter which buffs I have on or off, so I think the cap is 125%. On that note, the delay cap for attack speed is 0.8 delay. So, if I have a 2.0 delay speed weapon, how exactly does 125% haste effect it? Is there a formula? Ah yes, and I've tested the ranged delay question. And yes, haste does effect your ranged.

Message Edited by Kainsan on 08-18-2005 03:33 PM

Haste formula: newdelay = olddelay / (1 + haste). If you have 125% haste: newdelay = olddelay / (1 + 1.25), or delay/2.25
