Highest melee hit?

<DIV>Have any of you ever noticed that the highest melee hit tracking for monks does NOT tabulate Lunging Mongoose? It's the highest single hit, so it's only considering each of the swings, not all of em put together. <div></div>

Specials count as Magic attacks. Only normal melee (autoattack) count in the Melee Hits. Otherwise, Devastation Fist (Which can hit for 10k or more) would be the order of the day.

Yup melee is only autoattack, ca's are magic damage.

Highest melee hits are usually when you riposte for full damage. It doesn't matter which weapon you use when you riposte, damage calculation seems to be a set amount there. At least for me, my highest melee hit has always been a riposte. It rises slowly with each new level. *shrug*

that or using a melee skill that doesnt do magic damage. Bruising strike line counts as a melee hit. <div></div>

Yeah, my high melee hit so far was a riposte with my RGF (1,084, I love my RGF <span>:smileytongue:</span>) while doing "The Icy Dig". I haven't done Harclave in a few days, so I don't think thats where all the damage is comming from, but something about Riposte always seem to be really high damage. Magic hit on the other hand is like <span class="field_data_large"> 13,642, and pretty sure that come from an HO, becuase with D'Fist I don't think I have hit for that much. The highest I think D'Fist has ever registered was like 9-10k. </span><div></div>

My highest melee hit is around 1000-1500, and my highest magic, is well over 15k... devistation fist FTW <div></div>

Yea, ripostes hit a lot harder than normal attacks.  I do think that certian CA's look like melee damage, but count as magic.  If you look at the floating dmg numbers, a magic hit is outlined in blue, a melee hit isn't.  If you have So`Li's Spitting Cobra you will see it hitting like a HO, or a Nuke (number is outlined in blue), whereas most of our other abilities appear to hit for melee damage. <div></div>
