Hi all, I'm still pretty new. Currently lvl 18 brawler. I was in a group last night, that looked something like this: 22 necro, 20 mystic, 18 brawler, 18 brawler (me), 22 Warden. Now the other brawler was MainTank. We were pulling stuff that averaged lvl 25. So both us melee's couldn't hit for crap. I felt that as long as the MainTank was taking the damage, he was doing his job. Where does that leave me? Well, I was supplementing the MainTank. I kept Intervene on him, and Staggering Stance. In hopes to take some of the damage. Which I indeed was doing. After several fights the healers would have to heal me aswell. This is a good thing, as the MT was getting hit HARD! I didn't get huge damage, but I would definately get some. So in attempts to kinda define a new role. I propose (I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this) that Monks have the role of supporting the main tank. Give us more skills that increase the mitigation of the MT. Give us more skills that allow us to take a few hits from the MT. I would love the role of supporting the MT, and doing good damage. I really don't want to be the MT. I think this would be a pretty unique role (never really seen this kinda of role in any other mmo), and maybe we could be the master of this domain. Just an idea. Whatcha think? (be gentle :smileytongue: ) Rumple

I think it would be cool to give us more abilities to support the main tank, but I don't want to see monks lose the ability to BE the main tank as well.

Arn't they already the MainTank? Doesn't that seem rather useless. If they're already always wanted to MT, why would they have supplementary tank abilities aswell? But... we don't have actual info the on the combat revamp yet, so I'd have to question this tid-bit of info. Unless there is a bigger picture? Rumple

All fighters have variants of these skills - they all have a Staggering Stance equivalent, and they all have versions of Sacrifice. Some classes, like Crusaders, have additional buffs where they can give the MT some mitigation at the cost of their own.

Sacrifice is a skill that will become quite worthless as you move through higher levels. When Sacrifice intercepts a hit, it does so as a guaranteed hit (making our avoidance useless) and it does so as though you have zero mitigation (so you take significantly more damage than the MT would have). On an epic-level fight it will probably get you one-shotted.

Some general blurbs regarding the abilities of the Fighter classes have been released. Guardians will be the best at "granting their defense to others".
