<DIV>Got around to finishing my HCrook last night, and I'm not sure what to do with it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have pristine imbued augmented cestuses and fistwraps as my normal weapons, but have been waiting for a good 2hander to come along.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I wield the Crook, I gain some hitpoints, but lose power, a couple points of attack, and .5% avoidance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So a couple questions:</DIV> <DIV>1)  Do you feel the lowered avoidance is worth a few less ripostes?</DIV> <DIV>2)  The Crook reads as having a much higher damage potential than my dual wields, yet my attack drops a couple points.  I have typically assumed the two were related, but I guess I could be wrong.  What's the deal there?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Would you use the HCrook over dual wield crafted rares?</DIV>

There are times where you will use all your different setups. For instance use the Hcrook if you are tanking the adds in teh Zalak encounter. Some mobs you'll also use it cause your player crafted weapons wont hit the mob. Its one of those buggy kinds of things like fo rinstance in the Vox encounter. Everytime I have done it she has had a different immunity sometimes my slashers work sometimes piercers but almsot always my 2hander works. HCrook is a good weapon to have in your bags. It has a nice proc and will most definately proc more then your DW setups. Also for zones like Spirits of the Lost its a good thing to have as a back up. In that zone it is very easy to take a set of gear down to 0 real fast, and having backups for everything will come in handy so many times. So in summary I would say keep it in a bag or use it almsot always. Either way you'll be doing good dmg. But basically hold on to that crook until you can get a RGF.

<P>I keep my crook as a backup weapon to my Sharlian Maul.  It definitely depends on the situation as to which weapons I use, and if I am going for more avoidance/attack rating/hit points, but it is always a good idea to keep a backup around anyways.</P> <P> </P>

The Crook is great for doing Harclave, too <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I'm a little disappointed that the Crook is the only realistic Monk heritage quest weapon item.  Compared to all the other classes that get to use slashing weapons, we only have 2 options (and don't really consider the screaming mace as being an option) which is kinda [Removed for Content].  You do lose quite a bit of STR and AGI, but the STA you gain is nice.  Nonetheless I enjoy my Crook... it packs a punch, I have no problems tanking with it, and est yet you look like a sheep herder running around with it.

Yeah, my new thing is to wave it at mobs and say, "Watch out, I'll herd you!!"  It sends them runnin.  Really.
